" So you are his son? " Morten asked.

" Yes, " said Kenan.
Kenan had the master keys to the council buildings.
The councilor quarters, which was early deserted.

He had slipped them into his fathers office, it had been searched roughly but left alone.
The door was now securely locked, he had also locked a secret door in the wall.

"You think their still up in the council room itself?" Morten asked.

Kenan pulled a bookcase forward revealing weapons, he had taken his noisy guard gear off and was now looking for weapons for his new attire as most he had seemed to somehow click into his armor.
Morten had been dragging a dead Plains sword along but happily traded it for other options.

" I'm pretty sure their exhausted, most of his man at least. And there's plenty of them trying to navigate the secret passage. Looking for the girls, " Kenan said as he handed Morten a nice blade.
"We are going to kill all of those." Kenan said as if this was another day on the job.

"With these?" Asked Morten, he wasn't sure if he had the heart or ability to plow through a ton of man in a narrow passage that never personally wronged him.

Kenan shook his head, looking serious.
"No, they have made a system just for an occasion like this. To flood the secret passages with boiling water."

Morten didn't know if he had to heart to do that either.
That was mass murder, wasn't it..

Kenan seemed to sense his trepidation, he turned around at him.
"Morten? Right?"

Morten nodded.

"These man? Caused the torture and deaths of many, much more than we will take with this. And they are here because they want to continue that life. If we do not stop this, them, many more people will suffer and we will be the cause." He said simply.

Kenan unlocked the door carefully opened it,
while Morten took a moment to check his hand before shoving a glove over the bandages Kenan had dug up.

"We're safe, let's communicate by gestures from now on?" He suggested.

Morten nodded.

They had to get all the way to the top floor and turn on gigantic boilers.
They had to pass the hornets nest, as these boilers and the water reservoirs were on top of the domed roof. The roof of the council room.

The first few floors were relatively easy, there were only bodies to check.
But on the 4th floor a injured guard started screaming at their movement.
Morten cursed, Kenan pulled him behind a big plant that hardly covered them.
But it didn't matter,
no one came and the man passed out as quick as he had jolted into screaming.

" Should we.. " started Morten,
but Kenan shook his head.

" We will check when things calm down, he has passed out, let's hope his pain is minimal. "
Morten couldn't argue, all they could do was end his suffering.

The next floor held the council.
There weren't many ways up.
Morten had hoped Kenan knew some magical door, a secret passage.
But they hadn't made these, besides the one under the floor.
It made sense, they wanted as little as possible ways in, secret or not, for safety reasons.

There were two staircases and entries on each side of the round council room.
They tried the right first, but that one was easily dismissed.
A couple of plains man were sitting on it, one sleeping on the first step at an angle facing the hall they were navigating.
If he had been awake, they would have been toast.

Kenan shuffled around, "Pray to your gods the other is is deserted or at least guarded by sleepers." He whispered.

Morten nodded, his clan was a heretic one with no true gods.
But he could simply hope for the best.
