Chapter 9

My phone starts buzzing with each little text I get from the control room. InGen got the idea of using the Velociraptors as weapons against the Indominus. Owen is in charge of them, although I don't know how they convinced him to do it. Ben and I sit there, as I check my watch. 4 AM. The boat is about an hour late. Great. Ben starts cuddling me up, after I start shaking from how cold it is. We hear millions of people behind us, and Dinosaurs roaring all over. Ben cuddles me tighter.

"Don't worry, we'll get on the boat and leave. Then you can go home." 

I wish what he said could actually be true. I'm pretty sure even if I do get home, I'll have to be "questioned" or something. I don't think I would be able to just relax at home. I then start talking to Ben.

"When we get back..." 

"Yeah?"

I stop for a second to look to my left, seeing the Mosasaurus launching itself at the fences, trying to grasp free. It's tracking implant should kill it if it leaves the fence, so we should be fine, but I was still scared. I than see the boat in the distance and stand up. 

"It's the boat." 

It sails in front of Ben and I stopping the entrance at where the dock was. The door opens as they tell us to get on immediately. Ben and I run on and head towards guest rooms. We than sit down. I stare around and look out the windows. Jurassic World looked so lively when I came, but as I leave it's deserted, with smoke coming out from the island. I than sit down on Ben's bed. 

"Are you still worried? Where on the boat now-"

Two people dressed in black come bursting into our room.

"Ben and Rachel?"

"Yeah... That's us." 

"You're wanted for questioning."

One of them escorts me to the room. I look inside to find a chair, a desk and someone across from the empty chair. Questioning. I was right, But I haven't even got home yet... 

"Rachel Higgins. Tell us what happened." 

"Where do I start?" 

"What is the Indominus Rex?" 

I start breathing heavily, but am calmed down. I start explaining. 

"The Indominus Rex was going to be the park's latest attraction to spike up attendance. However, it wasn't just any old dinosaur. It was a genetic hybrid, taking the genes of other dinosaurs and the animals that exist today." 

"Why was it let out?" 

I wasn't so sure myself, but I told him what I think happened. 

"An co-worker of mine was asked to inspect the field to make sure it was safe. When he got there, the Indominus was not showing up, so they decided to use thermal detectors to find it. They were unsuccessful, that's when my co-worker spotted claw marks on the walls of the attraction. They thought it climbed out, and went to inspect the claws inside the cage."

I could tell the man questioning me was getting very impatient. 

"Upon further inspection it was revealed that the Indominus was in the cage. When they tried to escape, the Indominus broke out." 

The guard told me I could leave, where I saw Ben outside. We both headed back to our room. 

About an hour later we landed in Costa Rica, where I saw my parents waiting for me. I quickly jump to them and hug them as tight as I can. My mother than says something. 

"I was so worried..." 

I than see Owen and Claire about to walk out of the warehouse. I quickly run to them. 

"Claire. Owen." 

They both look behind, seeing me right there. 

"Yeah?" 

"Thanks for... keeping everything under control." 

"No problem..." 

I start walking towards my mother. 

The lights turn dark, and I hear people screaming. 

"THE INDOMINUS REX!"
