13. Risk Takers

Calen had always been a risk taker, but that thing changed when Jin Hye chose Caleb over him seven years ago. He never was the same old Calen, he changed - he might be a tough and mean, he was even called the blacksheep pastel but deep inside him, he was scared, lonely and just alone. But right now, as he watch Jin hye sleep beside him, he felt as if the scared, lonely and sad Calen faded away. He couldn't believe that she chose him this time. He was so happy, damned happy that he wanted to run aroun the village screaming with so much glee on the top of his lungs. 

He sighed. He suddenly wished that Caleb never finds out that Jin Hye is with him. Hindi naman kasi niya alam kung anong mangyayari sa oras na magkita ang dalawa. Oo, sa ngayon siya ang kasama ni Jin Hye, siya ang pinili nito, may nangyari sa kanila pero kung tutuusin ay wala siyang karapatan dito maski na ito ang babaeng mahal na mahal niya. 

Wala siyang karapatan. That's just how sad his life right now. 

He wanted so much to hold on to her pero hindi niya magawa dahil walang kasiguraduhan. Hindi niya alam kung hanggang kailan sila ganito, hindi niya alam, pero masaya siya. 

He pulled Jin Hye closer and let her head rest on his chest. He had missed her so much.  He had never been this happy for the longest time. 

He closed his eyes. He was smiling pretty good that moment, he will never let her go, never again. He will put up a good fight this time. He will never let Caleb near her, ever again. Lalabanan niya si Caleb, even if that means damaging their already damaged brotherhood... 

If that's what it taks to win back his princess, he will.

Jin Hye woke up alone in the bed. She was really disappointed, she wanted to feel what she felt the other day when she woke up and Calen was beside her. Ngayon ay wala ito, mukhang umalis na, bigla tuloy siyang nalungkot. She sighed. 

Last night, Calen made love to her for the first time after seven eyars, and in that moment, she realized how much she had missed him. She remembered everything that happened, hos touch, his kisses, his fiery movements... She could remember it clearly. At habang nagaganap iyon ay isa lang ang naglalaro sa isipan niya, mahal niya talaga si Calen at hindi niya maintindihan kung bakit niya ba hinayaan na magkahiwalay sila. She didn't know why she married Caleb at the first place. 

Caleb was a good husband -- he tried -- they tried to make things work, they really tried but then after two years she realized na kahit na anong gawin nilang dalawa ay hindi magwo-work out ang relationship na meron sila dahil walang pagmamahal. Caleb respects her, he was a good friend to her, pero hindi naman sapat iyon para magsama sila, so one night, she came to Caleb and she said the thing that he's afraid of saying to her... 

She left Caleb that same night. Siya ang umalis, siya ang nang-iwan dito. Caleb insisted that they try again, pero umayaw siya. Hindi naman siya tanga para hindi malaman na may mahal itong iba, she knew that he was in love with someone elseat kung minsan ay tinatawag pa nito ang pangalan ng babaeng iyon habang magkatabi silang natutulog. 

Isa pa, Caleb never touched her. For two years, he didn't even laid a finger on her. They would kiss once and a while pero hindi na lumagpas doon, mas lalo niyang napatunayan na pareho lang sila ni Caleb na may mahal na iba. 

Caleb was a good man, so is Calen, at alam niya na mula nang magpakasal sila ni Caleb ay hindi na naging maayos ang relasyon ng magkapatid - it was all her fault. Kung tumanggi lang sana siya noo, pero huli naman na, ang mas mahalaga ngayon ay magkasama na sila ni Calen at hindi na niya ito iiwan kahit na ano pang mangyari. 

Bahagya siyang nagulat nang bumukas ang pinto. Calen smiled at her, may dala pa itong tray na naglalaman ng pagkain. 

"Good morning!" He greeted. She pouted her lips, Calen bent down and kissed her.
