Hello my lovelies! This chapter is hopefully a little bit better than the rest because Marcus and Rocky have a little bit more interactions with one another. I know you guys have been waiting for it, so here it is! Enjoy! ♥

I sat on the plump window seat and stared out at the night sky before me. It was completely clear, not a cloud in sight, and I couldn't help but think of him as I stared out at the darkness. I let out a soft sigh, looking down at the ground below to see if I could detect any movement within the trees with no such luck. The moon was high in the sky and cast a luminous glow throughout the backyard, but the trees still held their mysterious black hue.

I stood up, unlocking the window like he had told me earlier today. I still wondered what the heck he had meant by that, but I never bothered to further question it. But one thing was for sure, I couldn't ignore the butterflies that were happily flying about in my stomach when I thought of the possibilities that may occur tonight.

I shook my head, clearing any unnecessary thoughts from my mind before making my way to the bathroom. I turned on the light, shutting the door behind me and turning on the faucet. With a heavy sigh, I looked at myself in the mirror. I seemed to look paler than usual, as if the day's discoveries had completely drained me. I had to admit, although I had only found out that I was indeed surrounded by people that had the ability to turn into wolves, I couldn't help but feel all tired out about it. It was like my life was making a complete U-turn after I moved into town. Like I had hopped onto a roller-coaster ride and there was no end to it; and the ironic part was, I hated roller-coasters. They always made me sick and weak in the knees. Yeah, not so much fun on my part.

I began to brush my teeth until I heard a weird sound outside my door. My hand froze, my mouth hanging open as I listened closely. I was met by complete and utter silence. Without a second thought, I shrugged it off and proceeded to my brushing.

Once I was done, I switched off the lights and opened the door, being greeted by complete darkness. Allowing my eyes to adjust, I blinked a few times before making my way towards the bed. I stopped suddenly, seeing a dark figure from the corner of my eye. I turned my head to the right, gazing at my full length mirror before my eyes widened in shock.

I spun around quickly, a yelp escaping my throat as I tripped over my backpack that was lying happily on the floor. How the hell did it get there? I landed with a loud thump and a groan. Man that hurt. Hearing a faint chuckle, I couldn't help but glare at the dark figure in front of me. I was about to give him a piece of my mind until I heard my dad's faint voice outside my door.

"You okay there, kiddo?"

"Yeah, just....fine."

"What happened?"

"I uh...tripped over my backpack. Must've left it lying on the floor when I got home today."

"Oh....be more careful next time, Rocky. Night."

"Night."

I waited until I heard his bedroom door close before he erupted into silent fits of laughter. My head snapped in his direction, my eyes throwing daggers at him as he continued to laugh so carelessly. If I remember correctly, I had left my backpack lying neatly beside my desk. I was never one to leave things out of place, so how in the world did it....

My mouth dropped open in shock. Oh no he didn't. "You traitor!"

"What? What did I do?" He asked innocently, but his eyes were a whole other matter.

I glared at him, pushing my backpack aside with my foot until it hit the wall. "You know what you did," I muttered, standing up awkwardly as I rubbed my butt. That was going to leave a mark in the morning.
