I slam the door shut, locking it, and lean my back against the door. Breathing heavily like I just won a marathon, I contemplate to myself about what the hell just happened. I nearly died just a few minutes ago.

Questions start bombarding my mind. What was that? Who was that? What do they want from me? Before I could think of any more bizarre questions, I see Nate staring at me with his eyes wide in fear and his mouth opened in shock. He's standing in the door way of the kitchen that faces straight towards the front door, where I'm currently hyperventilating against.

By this time the party was over and everyone had left home. The only people that were still here are all my closest friends. He runs straight to me and starts to examine me while shouting for the others.

"Maya, Katrina! Get a first aid kit and a glass of water now!" Nate shouts towards the kitchen. "Jade what the actual f*ck happened to you?" Nate questions me in horror while placing both hands on either sides of my shoulders.

I look up at him, swallowing the lump in my throat before answering him. "I-I," I go to say before cringing at the pain in my leg, forcing me lower myself to the ground. "Sh*t." I mutter. I point at my leg for Nate to see while gently stretching it out for him to see. I adjust myself on the ground in an awkward position so that the back of my right leg is almost directly facing Nate.

He lowers himself to the ground and gently grabs at my ankle and pushes what's left of my torn leggings away. Both Katrina and Maya rush by our sides, still confused on what's going on.

"Oh. My. God." They both said with terror in their eyes.

Luckily, Maya had the first aid kit with her instead of the glass of water, because it fell right out of her hold and landed straight on Nate's head. "Um, ow." Nate muttered, glaring at Maya.

I scold at him once he meets my gaze. "Oh uh, sorry Jade. Too soon." He shyly said as he continues at my wound. I roll my eyes at him before I hiss in pain as he unwraps my bloodied shirt off my leg.

Katrina crouches down next to me, handing me the glass of water. "Jade, seriously how did this happen?"

I sigh, not knowing where to begin. "Well one minute I'm fighting you off of Jake and the next minute I'm being chased off into the woods." I say while bringing the cup to my lips to take a sip.

I looked over at Nate who studies my wound while growing pale. He looks really worried and concerned. "What did this to you?" He says in a demanding tone. His whole demeanor changed once he noticed the claw mark.

I didn't think much of it other than him just being a worried friend. "A wolf." I sheepishly say. He swiftly faces me with a cold expression. What's wrong with him? I think to myself.

"What kind of wolf was it? Was it abnormally large? What can you remember?" He asked concerned.

"Well yes, it looked much larger than most wolves, it had dark fur, and dark red eyes." I say while shaking. He nods at my answer, looking away and dresses my wound. He didn't say anything after that.

"Okay well, Jade let's get you in bed." Maya says while picking me up from under my arm. Before I say anything to her, I look over at Nate who is now pacing back and forth with his hand behind his neck.

I really want to know what's going on with him right now.

"Earth to Jade?" Katrina questions, raising an eyebrow, snapping me out of my thoughts.

"Right yeah, take me to bed."

I look back at Nate one more time before walking up the stairs with both Maya and Katrina guiding me.
