"What part of 'don't wonder off' did you not understand?" Niko signed.

I felt really embarrassed at this point. I quickly just decided to use the same excuse I used on Xavier just a couple minutes ago.

"Sorry, I was looking for a bathroom. I really needed to pee." That wasn't entirely a lie. After my encounter with Xavier, I almost peed myself.

"Oh, well you were headed the right way. The bathroom is just past the kitchen, down the hall to your right. Just don't go through the double doors, that's Xavier's office.

Too late, I thought. "Thanks I'm alright for now."

"Anyways, we're starving here. You got anything to eat around here?" Katrina jumped in.

"We can order something if you guys want," Niko said.

"I'm down," Katrina replied as everyone else nodded.

The smell of pizza filled the room. We all had finished eating but remained seated at the dining table. Xavier had only came out once to grab a few slices and went back into his office. I was actually relieved about that.

"So how do you and Nate know each other?" I said, breaking the silence.

I looked over at Nate for an answer but he was just staring at the ground, lost in thought. It was weird how he just ignored me since he was always quick to answer anyone.

"We're family," he finally let out while eying the ground still.

I've known Nate basically half of my life and I've never really met any of his family members, besides an uncle he lived with when we were kids. He never talked about his parents or any relatives. I always thought it was a touchy topic for him and never brought it up.

"Oh really? That's nice. How are you guys related if you don't mind me asking?" I said. I really wanted to know more about Nate's family and this was the perfect opportunity to do so.

"We're cousins."

I was surprised by who answered. I looked over and saw Xavier leaning against the kitchen entryway with his arms crossed.

"You and Nate are cousins?" I asked stunned.
I never thought they would be related. So many questions started to fill my head after that.

"We sure are," Xavier said as he made his way over to us and sat at the head of the table.

I couldn't believe this whole time Nate's actually related to these guys and didn't mention anything. I honestly felt betrayed at this point.

"Why didn't you say anything, Nate?" I glared at him. He let out a loud sigh and adjusted himself in his chair before answering.

"I excluded myself from my family and don't like wasting my time talking about them," he said rather harshly.

He was right. If he didn't want to talk about his personal life he didn't have to. But the fact that we're all here in his cousins house, he could have mentioned something at least.

"Ouch," Niko huffed, while clutching at his heart dramatically.

Nate rolled his eyes in annoyance at Niko's outburst. "Stop being so dramatic Niko. Now that everyone knows everything we can go now," he said standing up.
