No one noticed

Puffy eyes every day,

Nights without sleep

Silently but surely,

For your mother you weep.

It's just a bad day,

Or maybe a bad year,

You scream out for help,

but no one can hear.

The sadness sneaks in,

An intruder in your mind,

It creeps into crevices,

What memories will it find?

Things you'd forgotten,

Or tried to forget,

Will be retrieved,

Has the pain won yet?

A signal for help

A cry at night,

You wish your life away,

You give up the fight.

I miss you mum,

Your death killed me,

Darkness crept in,

I forgot how to see.
