x. heavy downpour, heavy heart

you
blame
yourself
too much.

his death
was not
your fault.

but you don't
listen to
my words.

all you do
is stare
at the rope
and the chair,
adding
another grave
to the pile
that follows you.

and i pray
to the heavens,
now more than ever,
to let you go.
to let you be free
from the rain
that cursed you
with misery,
to allow
sunshine
to light your life.

but they ignore my words,
and society is
yelling at you,
blaming you.

please,
i begged silently in my head,
please don't listen
to the voices.

but the rain
is louder
than the shouts,
so you trudge on,
your heart
heavier than
it was
yesterday.
