Okay so he won't be one of 3000 students. He will be a classmate. Well, that's okay. There are worse things to worry about.

I put on a small smile and nod politely to the teacher, who is looking in my direction, and turn around.

"Oh right, how could I forget that, it's Ava right?" he asks me and I nod again.

He clears his throat and claps his hands before to get everyone's attention.

"Listen up everyone, I wanted to introduce you to our new student and I'd like you to warmly welcome her."

I let my head sink, not really enjoying this kind of attention.

"That's really not necessary," I mumble but he cuts me off,
"Come here, Ava. Don't be shy," he says and waves me to the front with his hand.

I stand up and go stand next to him, as he damanded.

While he talks about how the school wishes to welcome a new student- and by the way he talks a lot- I use the opportunity to look at all the students.

Most of them seem boring to be honest. I should not have prejudices though, maybe they are great people.

The only person that seems interesting, is the boy that I met yesterday.

We have eye contact for a second but I break it off because I am not done with looking at all the students yet.

I check out the first row, in which I am sitting. To my right there is a girl with curly read hair who has a few book in front of her. She is looking up to me and smiling. Okay, yeah she seems friendly.
I smile back and look to the left, where two kind of nerdy boys are listening carefully to the teacher.

Oh shit the teacher, I should probably listen to him.

"... As many of you may already know our school has three partner schools. Well, Ava is coming from is USHC."

Oh okay so he won't tell them why I got transferred here, will he? Please just don't. I mean that would just make everyone think that I-
He disrupts my thoughts by talking further.

"Due to her outrageous grades, we are all really happy that we gained such an intelligent student. I mean it is clear that this school is the best and most demanding out of all three," he states proudly and claps, ending his speech with this.

A few students clap too, including the boy, whose name I still don't know by the way, and when I look at him, he is looking at me with a small smirk on his lips. I sigh. I feel like he was looking at me the entire time I was standing here.

I turn to the teacher to give him his hand check, then thankfully rush back to my seat.

After the lesson I stand up as quickly as possible, pack my things together and leave the room as the first person, walking right to the next class, Biology, in room 1032.

Halfway through the day, in Math class I meet a girl that also seems to know no one out of all people.

After a few minutes of conversation I know that her name is Allie, that she has an older brother named Malekhi, who also goes to this school, and that she transferred here because she used to live with her dad but now moved to live with her mum.

I do not ask any further questions because I don't want to invade her privacy but from the way she talks I can instantly tell that she is the gentle kind of girl.

She has straight, dark brown hair and a pale skin tone with freckles spread all over her nose. We could be sisters, if I hadn't black hair.

Her style is cute and she talks a lot but I don't mind because it's actually interesting listening to her.

"What are your plans for lunch? Would you be interested in going out?" she questions and starts packing her things as the class is slowly coming to an end.

I think about it for a second but I have a better idea.

"I would love to but what about we check out the school first? I wanna pay a visit to the library, I heard it's really beautiful," I answer as the bell rings.

"That's such a good idea- I'm coming with you!"

I laugh and we both start walking to the library of the school.

Almost no one is in the library and that makes it look even more stunning. It kind of remembers me of Hogwarts, everything in here is so ancient and there are about a thousand books on the left and right wall.

About twenty to thirty long tables are placed in the middle of the library and a few bookshelves, filled with study material, can be found at the end of the long hall.
It looks really beautiful.

I look back to Allie to see if she is as impressed as I am and yep- she feels the same.

As she feels my look on her she turns to me and shakes her head in disbelief.

"It's overwhelming, it feels just like Hogwarts, doesn't it?"

Man, this girl could really be my best friend.

"Exactly what I thought"

"How often have you seen the movies?" she asks me as we walk to the end of the room and sit down at the last table.

"At least 20 times. Only because of Draco though. What about you?"

"More." She laughs, "I ship him with Hermionie"

After talking about Harry Potter for at least half an hour, we then begin writing our names in each book we got and talk about our classes.

We talk about all different things and about every twenty minutes a few students enter the library. At first I look up every time but after a while I'm so concentrated listening to Allie that I don't even realise the person coming to our direction.

„Oh hi," Allie suddenly says and I look up. A boy with brown curls and a white, comfy sweater is standing next to our table and taking his Airpods out.

„Ava, this is Gregory. A friend of mine. I've met him this morning in History. Greg, this is Ava." Allie introduces us politely.

"Hi" I press my lips to a smile and hold my hand up.

He smiles and takes a seat.

"So you already found a friend, Al? I'm proud of you!" He laughs and leans back.

"We haven't had new people here for years," he explains to me. "It's time things get a bit more interesting around here so you two definitely came at the right time!
