I keep paying attention to Greg as he tells us about his teachers, who to be honest all seem to be awful.
His schedule sounds even worse than mine. See, it can always be worse, so I should probably be grateful.

I can't help it but let a small laugh escape my lips and as Greg is ranting about his teachers and almost having a mental breakdown I can't control it anymore and laugh out loud.

Both, Greg and Allie, seem surprised and look at me. Allie looks at me with a he is having a hard time please be a little more understanding expression but Greg seems amused and when I don't say anything for my defense he just laughs. "Thank you for your huge emotional support Ava, I appreciate it." He says.

I want to say something thoughtful that could change his impression of me being the biggest unsentimental idiot ever but he talks further.

"I will probably die mid semester. And then rank last place when we get our SAT results. But it's okay," He practically cries.

"They aren't THAT bad though" Allie tries to convince him and earns a glare from Greg, which intends to say Yes they are.

"Hey, I will help you! We'll study together and get through this, trust me" I say in a soothing tone, right as the school bell rings.

"See! I'm saying it's not that bad. So which class do you guys have now?" Allie asks us as I staple my books that all together weigh like five tons.

"Uhm, Physics. I really really hate it, but let's see how it goes" I sigh, trying to fit all my books in my backpack.

"I have Physics too, we should go together" Greg suggests and I nod and then turn back to Allie. "What about you?"

"Geography. I hate it too, but I'm gonna survive. See you later," she smiles and walks away, blowing us a kiss.

When Greg and I arrive at the class room a couple minutes later a few students are standing outside, talking to each other.

"So tell me something about you, Greg" I demand as I lean my shoulder on the wall and realize that a few girls are watching me from the other side of the aisle.
I turn my attention back to Greg as he has already started talking.

"Well, school is becoming really hard at the moment, you know? Senior year's just... everything's getting harder, thank god I only live about ten minutes away from this place so I can run home when school's out," he sighs. "What about you?"

"Wait- you live ten minutes away from here? Where?" I ask.

"I live next to a tennis court it's like three blocks away from here" he tries to explain and I instinctively grab his arm, because mentally I'm cheering.
I never had a friend as a neighbour.

"No way, that means we are technically neighbours" I laugh and he raises his eyebrow.

"Are you serious? I've never seen you there" he says when a young woman walks towards the biology room and waves us all in.

"Let's sit at that table?" he asks me as we walk in and points to a table more at the end of the classroom.

"Sure,"

I mean I'm sure it's possible being good in class when sitting at the end of the class room, isn't it?

Okay, so apparently it is not possible because laughing the whole time in class is definitely NOT a good thing to do on the first day.
