France was more beautiful than I expected. I peered out the window, amazed at the view.

Once we were cleared to leave the plane, I stood up with the rest of the crowd, grabbed my carry-on and followed everyone through the exit. My legs were wobbling a little from the long flight, and I sighed in relief as I stretched for the first time after getting out of my seat.

As I made my way through the exit and into the airport, I stopped to take it all in.

'This is it, Riah. You did it.'  I thought to myself as I made my way to the luggage pick up. Once I found my bags, I grabbed my stuff and started walking towards a sign which pointed me towards the front exit. I pulled my phone out and clicked on my French to English app to translate what I was reading.

I did study a little bit of the language, but I'm nowhere near fluent.

When I discovered where to go, I shuffled towards some cafes and sat down at a table in the middle of the coffee shop. Pulling my phone out again, I looked up an Uber, paid for the drive from here to my hotel in Amiens, and set it down to wait.

Grasping my necklace between my fingers, I looked around at the people before me. Tay was right, French men are delicious. I giggled to myself as I shook my head.

This airport is actually pretty nice, the cafes, restaurants and little shops scattered perfectly throughout the main area were kind of fancy.

After about 15 minutes, my phone buzzed with a notification. My Uber is waiting outside, so I stood up, grabbed my things and made my way to the front doors. I looked around, trying to find the red car waiting for me. Once I finally found my ride and got my things into the trunk, I climbed into the backseat and smiled.

"French or English?" The man asked in an unrecognizable accent.

"English." I spoke up as I stared out the window in awe.

I gasped as the beautiful buildings passed by. People aren't lying when they say this is a place of love, France is breathtaking. Relaxing into the leather seat, I set my head down and closed my eyes. Just another two hours before I get to the hotel.

I woke up to the sound of my driver clearing his throat. "We're here." He glanced at me in the mirror, his dark eyes looked unamused.

I slowly opened my eyes and observed the elegant hotel in front of us. The building looked old, but modern in a way. A soft light shined through the glass windows. There was a small chandelier hanging from the ceiling at the front entrance, the lounge had brick walls with gorgeous paintings hung up. Vases with roses placed on glass tables.

I thanked the driver as I hopped out, strolling towards the trunk and opening it.
Once I grabbed my bags, I stopped in front of the building before I entered the warm air.

"Bonjour, you must be Riah." I heard the front desk lady say in a French accent, barely pronouncing my name correctly.
"I am, I called earlier to make sure I could check in late." I said, grinning as I set my ID on the counter.

She nodded. "Yes, I have your key card right here just let me put you in the system real quick." she replied gently. I nodded, waiting for her to finish typing into her computer.
