They really put up the paddling pool. They didn't have any pump to force some air into this empty nightmare so they had to do it themselves. Despite both of them being super soldiers they ended up panting and with red faces when the plastic thing was finally filled with enough air. Just as everyone else on this world would have, because those pools can hold a lot more air than you'd imagine.

Then it came to filling it with water. Both men just panting and with red face had different opinions on how to fill it and which water to use.

"We should just use the hose to fill that thing" , suggested Steve. Bucky didn't like the idea. He wanted a refreshment but not to freeze to death. The hose didn't have any temperature settings. There was only one option: toe curling cold.

"The water would be so cold then" , he voiced his unwillingness to sit down in a pool full of water that was just one degree away from becoming an icecube, "we could just get a bucket with warm water and fill the pool by getting multiple bucket loads."

Steve laughed. Bucky pouted. What was the problem with that?

"That'd take, like, years, pussy! You're a super soldier! You should be immune to cold" , he teased. Bucky felt the urge to push Steve into a big pool full with water from his beloved hose. He'd see. The coldness of this water was beyond super soldier protection power.

"We have the time, impatient brat or do you have anywhere to go?" , replied Bucky in the same, teasing tone as his friend had used.

"No, no specific places I should be at right now. The water from the hose isn't that cold anyway!" , he said, turned it on and let the water wet his feet. It obviously was freezing cold as he instantly directed the water away from his feet and at the grass. While letting out a not very manly shriek. "Okay, let's fill it with warm water from the bucket and the cold water from the hose, okay? Half warm, half cold. Deal, kiddo?" , suggested Steve. Bucky stuck his tongue out at him. Such a jerk. His jerk. He'd never openly admit that his foot was half dead now, which it sure was.

"Deal" , agreed Bucky and left to get warm water. It couldn't take that long anyway, could it?

He had to walk seven times to get the pool half filled and was rather happy that he wouldn't have to walk another seven times. Steve had been right, it did take some exhaustingly long time.

"It's your turn, hose boy" , Bucky laughed, signalling his boyfriend that it was his time to shine now. And Steve shone. He made a show out of turning the water on, about directing the stream at the pool and about everything else he did. He shook his ass, made funny faces and danced. Bucky laughed. It was funny. Sexy too, that couldn't be denied, but funny.

And it got even funnier when, suddenly and out of nowhere, Trauma became part of the game. He, of course, couldn't compete with Steve's ass but he could compete with his moves.

Trauma had stopped drinking a long time ago and lain down underneath the only tree in the garden. An old, big oak that was providing enough shadow for him. When he saw the stream of water though he jumped to his paws and made a run for it in an impressive pace. Bucky was surprised at how fast the dog could go. He looked a little like a black bolt of lightning. Just a few inches from the paddling pool the dog jumped, paws pressed into the earth, grass flying and landed. In the paddling pool, splashing both Steve and Bucky with water, his jaws closing around the water stream. There was definitely life in this little eye of his. More life than Bucky had seen in it ever sonce they'd met. That was why he didn't hold the dog back.

This was the beginning of a wild water game and Trauma seemed ro really enjoy it. He went after the water like the predator he was, catching it again and again, slipping in the paddling pool, rolling around in it, jumping up again, splashing everything that was in reach and a lot of things that actually seemed out of reach. Steve and Bucky were soon drenched in water without having touched the pool. They didn't mind though, on the contrary, they enjoyed it. They jumped around like children, slipped on the wet grass, rolled around in the resulting mud and ended up being just as dirty as their dog. They laughed, Trauma barked. They felt free and like children again. Everything was great.
