I don't even know what the time is. Real early. I wake up to the sound of Dad and Mom talking and immediately close my eyes again. I hear them talking about something that is going to happen and wonder. Are they sending me away? I sigh as I open my eyes again. It was clear that Dad was busy with something. But what?
"Dad," Maya said as she sat up. "Hey Sweetheart. Sorry I didn't mean to wake ya up," Shawn said. "What's going on? What are you doing?" Maya asked.
Shawn's pov
She had a sweet voice. Reminded me of when everything was just happy. But that wasn't out life anymore. A lot has changed and a lot is going to change.
"You're going away for awhile," Katy said. "We need to protect you while the dust settles," Shawn said. "A little vacation will do me good. Where am I going?" Maya asked. "Katy do you mind if I talk to Maya alone?" Shawn asked and Katy left.
Shawn sat down next to Maya and knew something was going to happen. But he didn't know how she would react.
"Philadelphia Maya. I'm sending you to Alan and Amy for awhile. And if you enjoy it then we're considering moving. When I married your mother I didn't just make the promise to protect her but you as well. And you're not protected. So I need to make a plan. But no matter what does happen we're here if you Eve rneed any help, okay?" Shawn said. "Okay," Maya said and gave her dad a hug.
She wasn't ever the vulnerable type but she knew that this visit would predict a few things that would go wrong. It could either mean Maya is happy or miserable. And neither Shawn or Katy want the last one.

"I love you, you know that?" Shawn said. "I love you too Dad," Maya said. "Okay jump through the shower and get something nice on. We're leaving in half an hour," Shawn said.
Maya jumped through the shower and got dressed in a short denim, T-shirt and sandals. She didn't put like make-up on because she hasn't find anything she liked and put her hair up in a ponytail. When she went to her room it was mostly empty. There were a few things left and she decided to pack them up. She took her backpack and threw the clothes she wore last night in, a couple of the photos, her phone, it's charger and a bracelet in. She was weary about what to bring since she didn't know how long it would be but packed everything she might need. She then went in front and saw her mom with little Sophie.
"Hello Sof," Maya said and picked the little baby up. "We are all going to miss you but like your dad said. It's for your own safety," Katy said. "I have a gift for you," Shawn said and gave Maya a box. "What is it?" Maya asked. "Open up and see," Shawn said.
Maya opened the box to find a laptop and a brand new phone with a laptop bag and a phone cover.
"Dad," Maya said. "As long as we can reach you I'm willing to pay. You can just put your old number in and the phone will work," Shawn said. "Thank you Dad," Maya said and gave him a hug. "Okay I'm loading this stuff while you say goodbye." "Safe travels. And call when you get there," Katy said. "I will," Maya said and gave her mom a hug.
Here she goes. Off to other people who are now going to take care of her.
