Somewhere around 10.00
Don't think I haven't noticed her yet. The girl in front of the counter making small talk with the cashier. Her curls bounce playfully up and down when she talks. There are two people in between us. Separating her from me. I envy the one who stands so close to her.

I'm not usually like this. I don't swoon over girls. Most times it's the opposite. Which sounds really arrogant but it's the truth. All my life people have swooned over my looks. I think I'm lucky in that way. Looks however aren't everything.

The line moves and just like that she passes me. She doesn't realize that her arm brushes past me. I catch a whiff of her perfume. Sweet, it tickles my nostrils.

I look down at my hands and wonder if I really need this bottle of water. I could do without. As quickly as I can I put it back on a random shelve and hate myself a little bit for it. It's rude. I'm not a rude person but it will have to do. I hurry outside and scan the sidewalk for her. She's just about to board a bus.

The reader beeps loudly when I hold my pass next to it. This is a rare occasion. I haven't taken the bus since I was in Uni.

She's seated by the window in the back. An empty seat next to her. There is a sliver of doubt in the back of my mind that I have to shake off before stepping up and planting myself firmly next to her. She looks confused while I grin.

'Hi.' I beam. She does me the honor of smiling and right away I notice her beautiful light brown eyes. A thin black line above her eyes. Lashes curled to perfection. She has soft eyes that match her smile.

'Hello.' She replies. Her voice is small, delicate to the point of fragility.

The bus starts to move. We drive in silence for a minute. The streets passing by swiftly. I'm unsure where I'm going and I'm just as unsure about what I'm going to say to her.

'It's nice out.' I say eventually to break the silence. She nods and moves her gaze from the window to me.

'You're Max? Right?'

'You know who I am?'

'Well yes, we've met.' She calmly says.

Fuck, have we met? I go over several memories in my head, looking for her in them. Nothing comes up. I take her in. Dancing curls, cute as a button. A fierceness to her innocence. I don't think I remember her. My cheeks start to turn red.

'You don't remember, do you?'

'I'm sorry.' I say a bit sheepish. She laughs and the sound is something I want to remember forever. If I did meet her before, I definitely didn't hear her laugh.

'It's okay. I'm Calli.' She hold out a hand and I eagerly take it. Her skin is soft to touch. A little colder than mine. Around her index-finger sits a small silver ring. Another on her thumb.

'Nice to meet you... again.' I smile.

We stop at several places and neither of us budges. I wonder where she is going. We've left everything that I know behind five streets ago but I'm dedicated to sitting this one out.

It's still early. A little past ten. I'm not usually out this early but for some reason I woke up with this new found energy that told me to make the most of this day. So I went to the mall looking for adventure. I thought about renting a car for a solo road trip but the place wasn't open yet so I went to buy a bottle of water and maybe some food for the way. And that is where I saw her.

So maybe the adventure I was about to go on turned into something a little different. I glance over at her. She sits quietly, gazing out the window at the greenery flashing before our eyes.

'Where are you headed?' she asks without looking.

'Eh... not sure yet. You?'

'There's an art gallery I want to visit.'

'Can I come?' I say without thinking. She turns in her seat, facing me. Her eyes scanning my face. Looking for something I'm not sure of what it is. She tilts her head slightly to the left. Eyes narrowing for a second.

'Alright. Why not.' Her glance softens again and the corners of her mouth curl up.

So she likes art and we have met. The thought of her knowing who I am makes me equally nervous and happy. I must have left an impression. I'm just worried it's not the right one. Looks like I've found myself an adventure.

I'm think I'm going to keep these chapters fairly short. Though that could change when the story progresses. Who knows :P Anywayyyy, hope you all like it!
