"Leave it to love
to wedge itself
where most unwanted
and still make sense."°•°
IT STARTED with a simple quarrel.A debate the theatre kids thought they could handle. For if they were to consider Romeo and Juliet for their upcoming play, it would only make sense to decide on which spectrum the story fell.
Was the classic a cautionary tale about the stupidity of youth and shallow lust or a beautiful tragedy about poisonous hatred conquered by love?
That was the big question. The one that divided this team into two, for neither side could settle on a grey area and no one was willing to compromise.
And though they all remained steadfast in their opinions, there were small bits inside their hearts that flickered in hopes that the argument would soon die down.
But stubbornness and pride was a warning on its own and just as they prayed not to, their group was divided into two.
Days flew by, the play was over and yet, hostility only grew, what started with little jabs at opposite members soon grew into hate infested glares.
No one dared apologise first. Pride and its partner had already made their home.
