Chapter 11 [ The ghost princess ]

Inside the library, Warren was checking his only student's works. Days ago, she was just struggling with simple past tense but now she has improved much better.

Every once in a while, Warren lifts his face from his works and observe the little girl.

All she did was destroying her crayons and paper, she won't study unless you told her to. For some reasons, Warren found it hard to believe that this deadfish girl is the girl who can beat the empire's intelligent person and the priest of Sol temple.

Someday, he found her laying on the library floor reading a thick book full of holy language of Gala. Even the empire's intelligent person took 1 month to translate a single book so why does this girl could simply read it and even snort at it?!

It was a secret that Adelliana could read the holy language of Sol, he wouldn't dare to spread it around even if he wanted to. The Grand duchess has specifically ordered him to shut up about this matter and there, the Grand duke kidnapped him in the middle of the night just to tell him not to spread any rumours about this.

These people are terrifying...

"Sir, did I do something to distract you?" The chirpy voice of a little girl brought him back to his sense. His eyes met a pair of two pink eyes which are glittering under the sunlight that was shining from the window.

Her pink eyes weren't the same as her father nor her mother. It was an unusual color yet he found that two pink glittering eyes fascinating as if they have magic to hypnotise someone.

It was just his guess but he sensed that this girl might grew to a height that is even greater than her father. The father is already amazing but with his blood and the dark sorcery from his wife, she might be more terrifying than her parents.

"Nothing, I was lost in my thoughts." Warren shook his head and continued with correcting her works.

Because he has assigned her too many works, Adelliana's math teacher has already arrived. Adelliana bid her teacher a farewell and dragged her legs to the next room with a big yawn.

Warren shook his head at her actions. After Adelliana left, Warren has his cconcentration back. He quickly corrected all her works then pack his stuff for his leaving.

Before he left, Warren picked up the book Adelliana read from earlier. He saw her bookmarked her page that she read with a paper.

Warren read the title and his two olive eyes tremble...

Who let a 5 years old child read a romance book...? It wasn't in holy  language. He sighed and place the book on his desk and leave the room after closing the door behind him.

Warren got into the carriage and watch the 6th window of the second floor until the castle behind him vanished as the carriage move forwards.

The carriage stopped in front of the palace gate. Warren gave the coachman 1 silver coin then head inside. Aside from his job as the tutor for Adelliana, Warren also worked in the palace as the librarian.

The royal librarian was divided in five. The first library is for general genre. The second library is specifically made for historical books, the third one is for scholar, the fourth one is dedicated to holy language and it's the only library that has least people enter. The fifth one is forbidden, even for noble as it's built for royalty to use only.

He still haven't mentioned anything about the sixth and seventh library that the emperor just newly built for his second daughter and his first born son.

Warren placed the book in order and proceed to sit down on the floor, checking the books title and the newly brought books.

He worked for the fifth library and the library only had him and one other librarian. They didn't chat and only works.  The second librarian finally broke the silence by asking him in a friendly manner.

"Baron Warren, how was the Grand duke's daughter? I heard from professor Gilbert that she's a genius!"

"Hmmm...let's see...she had problems with grammar but her speech and writing was pretty good. Lady Adelliana has a brilliant mind and was fast to learn new thing. Professor Gilbert sang to my ears everyday about her."

Warren adjusted his glasses and quietly observe the list.

"Wow, Really?!! Now come to think of it, there are many rumours about this lady. I don't trust the rumour that much but hearing a person who rarely praise and compliment to suddenly praise her, I'll believe it!"

They talked quietly about 15 minutes until the sound of a child footsteps thumping in the hall. They closed their mouths and do their works silently.

The footsteps approached them both and a small hand tug Warren's shirt. He turned around then his face was sweating in surprise when he saw a little girl in a pretty neat dress.

Her black hair straight hair was tied in a ponytail with blue flowers around it. She has a pair of deep blue eyes that could suck your soul in.

The sapphire blue eyes glittering even though they were in the dark for a moment. Her glittering blue eyes reminded him of the glittering pink eyes that belonged to a certain blondie.

Warren's shoulders shook when the girl suddenly asked him.

"Could you please grab that thick book with blue cover for me? I can't reach that height..."

She pointed at the blue book that was between the brown book and the red one. Warren's body moved on its own and his hand grabs the book for her.

She took the thick book into her two small hands and nods her head.

"Thank you..."

Both men watched as the little girl disappeared. Warren sat down and the other librarian immediately grabs his shoulders.

"Brooo!!! That was the legendary ghost princess!!!"

"The ghost what?"

"The ghost princess of the Peregrine!! The youngest daughter of the Peregrine royal family, princess Delaphina Eero Peregrine!"

The name suddenly ring a bell inside his head. 8 years ago, just as when the second prince was born, the empress died.

During those two years, the emperor didn't marry anyone else. However, it was no secret that he was closed with the noble lady who was also known as the temple's saintess.

She was the one who always lit up the temple torch every year. Now that that lady suddenly disappeared, the emperor was pushed by the court to get marry.

The emperor remarried to the daughter of the prime minister, but she was married to the emperor as his queen, not his empress.

The queen has given birth 5 months before the Grand duchess. She has given birth to a girl, now the empire have 2 princesses.

However, despite being the daughter of the emperor too, the emperor did not give his daughter a name or celebrate. It wasn't a surprise.

Thus, the youngest princess has never shown her face. She lived in the queen's palace and hid herself from noble society for 5 years now.

To think that the ghost princess casually walked up to him, tug his shirt and politely ask him to grab a book from a tall shelf for her.

Still, her glittering ocean eyes still leave an impact on him.

Whether anyone who has seen both of the princess or the duke's daughter or not, Warren knows that their unique glittering eyes were too similar except for their colors.
