Lives are lost,
Businesses are closing,
We're living through our screens,
Facing a reality none of us were prepared for.
Maybe now we would say,
"I wish I had made the most of my time,
Before this pandemic,
Before this isolation."
Maybe now we would regret,
All the times we lived,
While not really living,
Wishing we could turn back time.
But you know what?
I am grateful for whatever has happened,
Because it made us realize,
What matters most in our life.
It made us realize,
The importance of togetherness,
Of the little things in life,
And of not ever taking things for granted.
So, all I ask of you now,
Is to take this time with yourself,
To heal and to grow,
To be a better you when this is all over.
I ask that you now,
Give yourself the love you deserve,
Keep your loved ones close by heart,
And take a time to rest.
This is our time,
A second chance to be better.
So, please don't waste it,
And I will see you again,
When this is all over.
