fractals of colors
reflecting on the windows

life's colorful kaleidoscope:
the mirror of my soul
before the grey reaper came

a rainbow of memories:
red for the love I've received
orange for all the summers I've lived
yellow for the sunflowers in the yard
green for the wet grass under my feet
blue for my lonely companion, the sea
indigo for the stars during Christmas night
and violet for the small flowers in my hair

but now the rainbow is gone
in its place there's a mixture of
grey, black, and white
melancholy, sadness and numbness

the colors of my soul have faded away
the mirror is now empty and shattered,
its fragments tearing my skin
the red of the injury is soon replaced

everything turns grey again
because the reaper is here

another loss
