THE GROUP HAD BECOME SUBSTANTIALLY closer over the course of the previous few weeks. James engaged in a fair amount of rumination, as he began to notice that he was not searching for Lily as frequently as he normally had been, along with her no longer residing at the forefront of his thoughts.
Autumn appeared to be providing him with a level of comfort that he had not experienced before, alongside not dismissing his jokes and antics, which he found to be rather appealing. In his musings, he realized that he had never possessed a female friend who had managed to fulfil that role.
The manner in which Autumn interacted with him delighted the Gryffindor male, and he strived to maintain a sense of rationality, so as to not perceive her in an abruptly different light.
The amount of thought he dedicated towards Autumn, increased. He began to contemplate her with a heightened level of significance and detail, which was a situation that he was seemingly accepting and content with.
James had opted to take things slowly and carefully, as he strived to learn more information regarding Autumn, and this resulted in him gaining an enhanced understanding that surpassed what he had possessed regarding Lily.
