Once I got home, I took out all of my ingredients to begin cooking.

I was determined to make my own pasta from scratch, as well as everything else on the dish.

As I packed away the rest of my shopping, I couldn't help but smile at the fact I'd seen Will at the store.

It'd been years since I'd last seen him and when we lost touch, I'd found it hard.

It was nice to see him doing well and I was glad that we'd seen each other again.

I began to make the pasta, following Jocelyn's recipe precisely. I got the flour and placed the egg in the centre, mixing the dough with my hands messily.

When it got to the part where I had to roll the pasta...that's where it started to go wrong.

I couldn't roll the pasta without it folding over or getting tangled and I was sure that I looked a mess.

All of a sudden, I heard the front door close and couldn't help but curse under my breath.

Reed was home and my surprise was ruined! I thought he'd be home late due to the things he had to deal with today...but obviously I was wrong.

"Julia? Where are you?" he shouted through the house.

I froze where I was, holding my half rolled pasta in the air. I was covered in flour from head to toe and was certainly not ready for him to see me like this.

"In here." I mumbled.

I heard him getting closer until he appeared in the kitchen doorway.

The second he saw me, he threw his head back in laughter. He couldn't contain himself and I couldn't help but drop my pasta and bring my hands to my face.

"I'm so stupid." I groaned.

"What? Of course you're not, you just caught me off guard." Reed said, walking towards me. "Are you trying to cook?"

"Yeah, it was supposed to be a surprise." I sighed. "I was trying to cook your favourite pasta...the one your Mom used to make. It was a bad idea."

"Seriously babe? That's the nicest thing anyone's ever tried to do for me." he said, pulling me into a hug.

"Really?"

"Yes...even if you're covered in flour." he laughed.

"Oh shut up!" I chuckled, pulling away from him.

I quickly reached for the bag of flour and took a big handful, throwing it at Reed.

"There. Now we're both covered in flour." I said smugly, placing my hands on my hips.

He looked down at his chest which was now covered in flour and he held his mouth open before looking back up at me with a smirk.

"Oh it's on."

He suddenly reached for the flour as I ran around the counter.

"Come here!" he said, chasing me around the kitchen island as I burst into laughter.

He threw the flour and it landed right in my hair as I took the bag back in my hands.

I reached into the bag to take another handful and he soon looked just as covered as I was.

I then sneaked over to the table and grabbed my phone. I turned around quickly and snapped a photo of Reed covered in the flour.

"Oh hell no, you're going to pay for that." he laughed as he ran over to me.
