Shadow, the new guardian of the crew.

As she sprinted past her partners like she was made light like a leaf and moved like the wind, the whole scene went dead quiet.

When she reached the military truck that was in front of the tank, she turned to face at the three girls.

With one hand, she took a grenade and unlocked it with her teeth, spitting out the tag.

She then gracefully did a reverse shot, not really aiming but it fell directly on the tank who exploded a few seconds after.

Shadow was lucky to have moved away pretty quickly but the two following tanks weren't going to be taken down by themselves. Some more snipers and soldiers prepared themselves to shoot at the four girls.

And as they did so, Shadow who was walking away from that explosion, got out two smoke bombs that was in her jacket. She walked towards the girls, happy she could save them a few seconds by blinding the military before completely crushing them with their amazing skills.

But that wasn't the plan for Blink. And as Blink wanted to flee the situation, Nocturne had to come too because they were partners.

Uh?

As Blink walked away, in the opposite direction of the military, it became clear to Black Lynx and Shadow that she and Nocturne were never partners nor a crew. They had trusted them just to get Baby out and to have better luck with the military but Blink soon realized Shadow and the Lynx could do it by themselves. Nocturne followed behind with her head down. That would've been a beautiful headline "soldiers killed by teen archer Nocturne" or maybe even if I was lucky, "psyco killer teen on the loose". These were all dreams to Nocturne.

The smoke started to disband but it was still too hard to see a thing. The sweat of the military fell down on the dry sand like a waterfall. They all knew well who were they shooting at. They nee not to judge by their looks and age, even sex, they were killers and that was all the military needed to break in full force.

When Blink stopped with Nocturne following, a bit farther than the crashed police cars, she took a look back at the pair who were left behind. She felt grateful for the kindness Shadow had shared but this wasn't time to make friends. Blink never needed friends or any emotional connection. She only needed people who she thought had potential, like Baby and Nocturne. But Black Lynx and Shadow didn't even meet her list. This was time for Blink to go and leave the confused girls take care of the military.

"Where is she going?" Said Black Lynx who was confused by the sudden change of plan.

And only by a blink of an eye, a line of smoke appeared before Blink and Nocturne. A large motorcycle froze in front of them. You see, Baby never actually left the scene.

"Are you coming or should I come back tomorrow?" Baby never liked to be kept waiting. It is a little ironic for a driver to hate waiting. That's what she does half the time.

As the new motocycle left the scene like a flashing light, Black Lynx and Shadow were left alone, fighting against world class snipers of the military, trained for dozens of years.

"IM GOING TO FUCKING KILL HER"

"You mean 'them'?" Shadow kept calm, preparing some more grenades in the back of her hand.

"No I'm going to kill BLINK. The three of them aren't the most intelligent but in every group, it has to have a brain/leader. Blink is that one. She's a shitty 'brain' and a DICTATOR PIG!"

"Go get the truck started. I'll destroy the tanks but I don't think I'll have the time for the rest." said Shadow, who was ashamed to think the same way.

"Good luck." Even if their just new crew disbanded, the two of them could never break. They also knew in the back of their head, that they'll meet again with the other three.

From before, Baby already repaired most of the truck. It was easy for Black Lynx to start it up. But the uneasy part that, none of the two could drive.

As Shadow took out the two tanks, and also threw a couple of smoke bombs, her partner drove the truck to right next where she was standing.

Shots started to fire heavily and Shadow hopped in the passenger seat. A big police truck wasn't the best way to be unseen.

Black Lynx drove off on the sand, still in the early morning, she knew exactly how to get to the house, only problem is...

"I'll be fine on the Plains, but once we get into the suburbs, or even any civilization, I don't think I'll make it Shadow. I can't drive for shit."
