He then got a nagging or three after that, something about knocking before entering and so, I tried changing topics saying i was bored then father suggested i organize a tea party where he would take care of the invitations, BUT

A cold wind pressed on my back by the thought, so i suggested i hang out with people i already know, BUT, 'Allendis is an exception' said father and Eldred at the same time, when i mentioned lady Aristia they hesitated for a minute and i launched my puppy eyes attack. it was meant to work.

But now that i think about it, maybe i should've stuck with the tea party.

"Well i came here to have a conversation with the lady but it seems it's not very entertaining so i shall take my leave,"

As i turned back, a voice called out for me,

"Wait! please pardon my rudeness, i was being selfish. I'm sorry"

i was laughing at how Aristia woke up and went to hug his father in her night gown, with the whole knight squad there too!

"W-well your father must have been pleased seeing how much he likes you" i sipped on my tea to stop the urge of bursting in a fit of laughter,

At first it was quite and uncomfortable but the conversation went from formal talks to casual talks where we would share random memories and laugh together, it was enjoyable but i had came for a different reason,

The carriage was comfy and the ride wasn't wobbly, the sun was a gentle orange and the clouds a fierce red making a perfect symphony.

Once the carriage halted i went straight to my father's office, gently knocking on the door i heard a 'come in' and turned the handle

only to be surprised by the figure sitting beside the Archduke, i was awestruck.

"Elly you came back, did you have fun"

"I-I..." i couldn't form a complete sentence, my voice was stuck between my chords. What on earth is he doing here !?

His white hair blooming in the sunset that was viewed by the window, purple eyes which were so sharp they could pierce my soul. Well that was my impression.

"This is your daughter? My she's very cute"

Shut up!

"Estelle what's wrong you look pale" my father ignored zena's compliment when he saw my sudden state

Zena stood up stepping towards me and i stiffened, i was frozen in fear.

I was afraid.

Zena crouched down on my level smiling gently. How that smile seemed so dull in front of me

I busted out the office and went to my room, maids who saw me running were agitated and others calling out my name. The sound made by the door which was forcefully shut was joined by my sobs and hollow breaths,

Was i that scared of the Duke before?

No in fact i was close to him, more than my father. But that was before, before i knew he was that kind of person 

The slight knock on my door woke me up, i suposed it was Lila since she has been knocking me to sleep

"Elly it's me"

It's father's voice

"May i come in"

"...sure"

I heard the door knob turning and footsteps towards my bed, then my bed sank at the side where he sat,

"Duke Zena went back"

"Estelle" his voice was gentle which urged tears out of my eyes

"H,He won't come back w,will he" i managed to say between my sobs

I hastily stood up and hugged my father who was already opening his arms for me to hold, It was so warm, i wish, i could've stayed there forever,

"I love you, p, papaa"

"I love you too Elly"

A kiss on the forehead, was enough to drift me back to sleep.
