"Read reverently," with respect to the Lord

Repeatedly. Creatively. Visually. With study tools.

To understand.

"Read reverently," for this is the Word of God

I look at the blue paperback on my black Samsung and touch the smooth cool cover

Designed as if to take us back, calmly, to the days antiquated with white picket fences and fine literary filigree- blue to steady and white fringe to accessorize beauty-

My thumb flipping the pages to peruse many lines of tiny words aged miraculously into this-

Our- chaotic era.

It's honestly a miracle.

Sure, words may be lost here and there or here or there

But the fact it- we- the words stood the test of time to be printed and lay on my table is a miracle.

There was a time paper was expensive and only nobles had the pleasure and right to own and write on them.

(A pleasure because they understood words and a right because they could write.)

Musing some more there's the reality of my blackness born in a world where Christianity has fame

and I was not indoctrinated by blood and steel.

I was born into a Christian family. Though I can't say if the original legacy was borne as cleanly as mine. Not anymore.

Pristine, it still remains. Misused, misappropriated so, it can still remain pristine.

Impossible to individually blame. These combined books seeking absolution, praise, and freedom from pain,

Seeking and preaching love, conversing.
