Chapter 9

ATLANTIS

"Vida!"

My tears started to fall as I saw the sand-crafted serpent devoured Vida. The serpent went back from where it came from, to the ground.

I transformed myself right away into an Alpha Atlantean. Zephyrus snatches my hand just as I was about to exit the green barrier.

"Vida won't like it-"

I immediately shove his hand. I gave him a resentful look in the eyes. My cheeks began to flush with tears. I'm starting to wonder if Vida is still alive or if Clark gruesomely allowed that thing to devour her.

"Whatever, Zephyrus! If you see yourself a weak person and cannot withstand with that man, then I won't force you! I really won't. But, please, do not stop me from helping Vida just because she said so! This time, I'm going to do what I want, even it contradicts what Vida has instructed us!"

I sprint as quickly as I can in Clark's direction. Because of what he did to Vida, I had a strong inclination to stab him in the back. I threw up my trident as I got close to him.

"Ahh!"

I believed I could succeed. I was about to use my trident to attack him when he abruptly turned to face me with a serious expression.

Everything happened so quickly, his hand is now choking me to death. I tried to resist by untangling his hand from my neck but he's too strong.

"L-Let go of me..."

He did not listen, instead, he electrify me using his which causes my body to shake. I can feel the spark flowing through my body.

"You teamed up with a wrong person, Atlantis."

He throws me to the ground like a crumpled piece of paper. My power had miraculously disappeared. I am unable to move or feel anything. However, I tried my best to reach my golden trident.

He was walking towards the direction of my trident when I saw him. I thought he would turn it into sand just like what he did to Vidaʼs metal, but, he just ruthlessly crushed my hand. Pain caused me to shout. My tears started to fall when he pressed his foot hardly to my hand.

"Atlantis!"

I shook my head when I heard the footsteps of Zephyrus rushing to our direction.

"Don't go here, Zephyrus! Please!"

Clark snorted. "Surrender your flag or I will kill him."

"Go to hell!" I retorted.

"Well, I will let you experience hell!"

He created a thunderbolt on his hand and pointed it to me. I closed my eyes as I caught a glimpse of determination to kill me in his eyes.

I guess, this is our end, Vida.

"Argh!"

"A prayer won't save you from this multi-possessor, Atlantis. Get up and I will end this at once."

I heard Vidaʼs voice from afar. Akala ko noong narinig ko ang boses niya, bumalik ang lakas ko at nawala ang hapdi ng sugat ko. Ngunit noong ibinuka ko ang mga mata ko, nakita ko sa hindi kalayuan si Zephyrus na ginagamot ako.
