OUTSIDE THE LIBRARY

Divine's forehead caressed the moment she saw Luxury's figure running towards her. Luxury happily waved at her which made her frown deepen.
LUXURY:
Gutom ka na?
The man asked breathlessly after arriving in front of Divine.
DIVINE:
Hindi pa naman.
LUXURY:
Buti naman. Hahaha.
DIVINE:
You shouldn't have run.
LUXURY:
Ay ganon? Pasensya na po, madam. Ayaw ko kasing pinaghihintay ng matagal ang kamahalan.
Divine just shook her head because of how silly Luxury's words can be. She was about to contradict his answer when her eyes unnoticedly landed on the brown paper bag Luxury was holding.
LUXURY:
Lunch natin.
Luxury smiled cheekily as he showed up the paper bag to Divine.
LUXURY:
Barbecue ulam natin ngayon. Ayos lang ba?
Divine stared at him for a moment before nodding her head in response.
DIVINE:
Saan mo 'yan binili?
LUXURY:
Doon sa maliit na stool ng isawan sa harap ng school natin. Nag-order ako kila manong kanina.
Divine nodded her head before looking back at Luxury's face. She was fighting the urge to ask him if he ate those kinds of food. But before she could even let out her question, Luxury already answered her with a wide smile.
LUXURY:
First time ko pong kakain nito, madam. Pero gusto ko na talagang mag-try nito noon pa. Ngayon lang ako nakahanap ng tyempo.
Luxury's genuine smile wider.
For the nth time, Divine just nodded in response before turning her back to lead the way. Meanwhile, Luxury was following her from behind like an obedient cat.
