Selene and Olivia entered the assembly hall of Mystic Moon Academy, where a palpable energy buzzed through the air. The hall was filled with students of all kinds, each chattering with excitement as they found their seats. The grand room was an elegant blend of modern design and ancient mystique, a reflection of the academy's unique character.

As Selene and Olivia made their way further inside, they began scanning the hall for an empty spot. The seats were filling up quickly, but eventually, they spotted a pair of empty chairs in the middle of a row. They squeezed past other students and settled into their seats.

The hall was abuzz with whispers and laughter as students greeted one another after the summer break. The excitement for the upcoming school year was palpable, and Selene couldn't help but get caught up in the atmosphere. She stole a glance at Olivia, her new friend who had been so welcoming since their first meeting. Olivia's presence was a comforting anchor amidst the sea of unfamiliar faces.

As they observed the crowd, Selene couldn't help but notice a commotion near the front. A group of girls had gathered around a young man, their giggles and fluttering eyelashes revealing their keen interest. The guy at the center of this female attention was charismatic and confident, his charisma radiating like an invisible magnet.

Olivia leaned closer to Selene, her voice low and conspiratorial. "See that guy over there? That's Connor Miller."

Selene nodded, her curiosity piqued. "Connor? Is he another one of the Quads?"

Olivia grinned. "You got it. He's the second-born, and he's incredibly popular with the girls here."

As Selene watched the girls fawn over Connor, she couldn't help but feel a pang of unease. Olivia continued her hushed explanation. "You see, all these girls here, they're hoping to be the fated mate of the Quads. And if they can't be that, they'll settle for being chosen by one of them. Especially Connor, he's a real heartthrob."

Selene tried to mask her discomfort with a polite smile, but her thoughts were racing. She couldn't shake the image of Jessica from her mind. It seemed like the competition for the attention of the Quads was far fiercer than she had initially thought. She had always known that they were desirable, but seeing it in person was an entirely different experience.

The assembly hall continued to fill with students, each taking their place for the start-of-year ceremony. Selene couldn't help but wonder if Jessica was somewhere in this crowd, with her sights set on the Quads just like these other girls. The idea left a strange knot of insecurity in her stomach.

As the whispers and laughter around them grew, Selene tried to push her doubts aside. She had chosen to be Sophia, to explore life as a normal girl, at least for a while. This was her opportunity to see how people would treat her without the weight of the representative's title. She had to remember that she was here for her own journey, and she couldn't let the desires of others sway her.

Olivia nudged her gently, bringing Selene back to the present moment. "Hey, don't worry too much about it. This is just how things are at the academy. You'll find your place here, too."

Selene smiled at her new friend's reassuring words, grateful for the camaraderie she had already found. As they settled into their seats, the assembly hall lights dimmed, signaling the beginning of the ceremony.

It was a moment of transition, a step into the unknown, and Selene couldn't help but feel both anticipation and trepidation as she wondered what the new school year would bring.
