In the quiet, dimly lit hallways of Mystic Moon Academy, Selene, disguised as Sophia, made her way back to her dorm after a late-night walk. Her thoughts were filled with the secrets and mysteries that surrounded the academy, and the cold night air did little to chase away the loneliness that had taken residence in her heart.

As she walked, her footsteps echoing in the empty corridors, Selene couldn't help but glance down a side hallway. There, beneath a soft pool of light, she saw Jessica and Connor. Her heart lurched painfully as she watched them engaged in a conversation that was clearly more than just casual.

They stood close, their laughter mingling, and it was painfully obvious that they were flirting. Selene felt a familiar ache in her heart, the same pain she felt when she saw Ronan and Jessica together.

Trying to swallow the hurt, Selene turned to walk away, her footsteps echoing hollowly against the cold, stone floors. But just as she was about to escape the scene, Jessica noticed her and called out.

"Hey, you there, new girl!" Jessica's voice rang out, dripping with condescension.

Selene, now 'Sophia,' turned to face her, putting on a smile despite the turmoil inside. "Oh, hi, Jessica."

Jessica looked Selene up and down, her eyes filled with mockery. "Wow, you look rather... basic, don't you think? If you have any hopes of getting close to the Quads, you might want to upgrade that wardrobe."

Selene's heart ached even more, and she struggled to maintain her façade. Her own clothes, chosen to help her blend in, suddenly felt like a weight upon her. She could feel Connor's eyes on her, but he didn't speak up.

"I'll keep that in mind," she replied, her voice steady, though a part of her crumbled inside.

Jessica just laughed, her mirth joined by Connor's. Selene turned away, the pain in her heart too much to bear.

As she continued her lonely walk to her dorm, she couldn't help but wonder if she could ever escape the painful memories of her past and find a way to belong in this world of secrets and desires. The burden of her dual life weighed heavily upon her, and she yearned for a day when her heart wouldn't ache at the sight of Jessica and Connor, or Ronan, happy in their own world of bliss. It was a reminder of how she was still an outsider, her true self a secret from everyone, even from those she longed to be close to. The academy's hallways felt colder than ever that night as she navigated the maze of her emotions, the question of her place in this world haunting her every step.
