Gronald wiped the sweat off his forehead using a silky white handkerchief as he took a seat face-to-face with the noble lady wearing an apologetic look on his face. He tried his best to arrive as soon as possible however, he was late, much to his dismay. Mishila was hurt and he had to console her for a long time and even had to talk with the prime minister's wife for a while. Finally, when he was set free, he didn't wait to take a breath and directly set off to Edwina and to Evelyn's mansion. Despite his efforts and reasons, he still felt guilty to make a woman wait for him.

"Good afternoon, my lady." His hoarse voice broke the silence between the two strangers.

"Indeed, Good AFTERNOON!" Evelyn sneered and greeted back, emphasizing the word, 'Afternoon'.

Gronald blinked as he became speechless. He didn't expect Evelyn, who was famous as the most well-mannered, noblest young lady among nobles, to act that way. He was truly surprised and didn't know how to continue the conversation further. Thus he smiled foolishly and averted his gaze on the tea cup presented to him by a maid.

"Why are you here?" Evelyn's sudden question made Gronald choke on his tea and he started coughing, his face became beet red and he felt like his throat was on fire.

"Wh-water," He managed to blurt out still coughing continuously.

Evelyn rolled her eyes, acting like a mean girl before pushing a glass filled with warm water in front of him disrespectfully. Gronald didn't care about her rude behaviour as he took the glass as if his life depended on it and swallowed it down with a loud gulping sound.

"Eww!" Evelyn wrinkled her nose. "Such a disgusting sound. Can you just stop it?"

Gronald put the glass down and wiped his mouth using the back of his hand, his face still red. "I'm sorry," His voice sounded unclear as he apologized.

"Mmm." Evelyn looked at her well manicured nails. "If you are okay, you can leave."

Gronald tilted his head at her nonchalant words. "I can leave? No! We are here to talk about our marriage, my lady. We didn't even enter that topic yet."

"What's there to talk?" Evelyn scoffed. "I don't like you. You don't like me. So the marriage won't happen. Isn't it a piece of cake to understand?"

Gronald examined her closely when he heard that. Evelyn was a beautiful young lady with blonde hair kissing her shoulders and silver dress that appeared like the moon kissing the wooden floor. She wore spectacles which gave her a mature, nerdy look. What mesmerized him the most was her eyes. She had pink sparkling eyes filled with spirit. Although her eyes were red and swollen, it couldn't decrease the beauty in them.

"Did you cry?" He asked with concern all over his face. "Are you upset because of me? I'm sincerely sor..."

His words got interrupted by Evelyn's unladylike laughter. She laughed while hitting the arm of her chair. She even stomped her foot like a horse, making a clacking sound using her high heels.

"So delusional!" She ridiculed. "I've never seen such a delusional person like you!" She sized him up and down with a disdain look on her face.

She cried because of that woman called Zadhea. Not because of this old guy! Whom did he think he was? The prince charming of every woman's dreams?

Gronald felt hurt. "My lady, I respect you and I hope you'll do the same."

"Huh? Are you threatening ME at my OWN HOUSE?" Evelyn asked in disbelief. "What's with that voice of yours? So cold! Did you eat some snow before coming here?"

"...It's not winter."

"Are you mocking me now?" Evelyn interrogated loudly as if she wanted others to know what was happening inside the room. "You are quite full of yourself I see. You know what I'd prefer to say to people like you? Guess! I have two magic words."
