Rishi’s POV:-

I was up since 6:30 AM and Saurabh Bhai and Vikrant Bhai were busy with decorating our mansion’s backyard for Geet and I’s engagement. The actual ceremony was until after 5 PM, but my brother’s took it upon themselves to stay busy the whole day. The decoration was supposed to be just some flower arrangements as Mumma asked Geet what she would like.

Geet and her whole family were arriving by 4 PM to Randhawa mansion and soon after everyone is properly settled in for the day, our engagement will be held in an intimate ceremony. Our parents decided that we would invite the rest of our relatives for the wedding. So, for a week at least, I have the time to prepare myself to interact will all my nosy relatives. Hey Bhagwan, ab uparse Geet ke bhi aur relatives se milna hoga.

Anyways, so, I wore sweatpants and a t-shirt and went downstairs to have my breakfast. Ab after a week, Geet would be a new addition to our family. Everyone loves her so much. She would be here at the breakfast table, she would be in the kitchen, in my room, in my mind, everywhere.

Ok Rishi, ye subah subah kya Geet Geet laga rakha hai, chup kar yaar. Tune hi kaha tha use ki wo tujhse kuch expectations na rakhe. Ab kyu sapne dekh Raha hai. Kahi kuch kuch ho to nahi raha? My Subconscious mind mocked me.

Are yaar, chup chuppp.

“Rishi, kya soch Raha hai, breakfast karle. Kaam baki hai bohot jyada.” Mumma said, pulling me out of my thoughts.

“Ha Mumma, aapne kuch kaha?” I asked her, as I was busy getting my mind to quiet down.

“Ha, maine kaha jaldi khalo, kaam baki hai. Vaise tu soch kya Raha hai?” Mumma asked me again.

“Kuch nahi mumma.” I said, digging into my breakfast. Aaj breakfast mai mumma ne moong daal ka chila banaya tha. Mumma ke haath ka khana is love.

Maine London mai miss Kiya tha bohot. Are ha, mai to batana bhul hi gaya. Mai London mai tha, for my higher studies. Do saal pehle laut aaya. Waha mujhe mumma ke haath ke khane ki bohot yaad aati thi. Par koi baat nahi, waha to..…..

“Rishii, wapas sochne lag gaya. Chila khaa, thanda ho jayega. Ya mai khilau?” Mumma said, interrupting my thoughts again.

“Are mumma, aap nahi, Geet ko bula lo. Wo khilayegi.” Saurabh Bhai teased.

“Bhai, aap to rehne hi do. Aapki shaadi hui thi tab yaad hai na? Ki batau sabko?” I mocked him, remembering the most embarrassing moment.

“Rishi muh khol tu sirf, pitega tu.”  Bhai said, glaring at me.

“Kya hua? Kyu ghur rahe ho mere devar ji ko?” Shreeja Bhabhi asked, entering the dining area with Aarav.

“Dekhiye na Bhabhi, aapke patidev hume khane nahi de rahe.” I complained to her.

“Par hua kya?” Bhabhi asked.

“Are Bhabhi, Bhai mujhe chida rahe the, to maine bass unhe aapki nayi nayi shaadi hui thi tab wali baat yaad dila di.” I explained to her, hoping she would side with me.

“Thappad padega Rishi.” Bhabhi said, crushing my hopes.

“Bhabhi aap bhi? Bata hi deta aaj sabko!!” I said, teasing the both of them.

“Aaj Teri engagement hai Rishi, muh khol ke dekh, ring pehene ke liye ungliya nahi bachengi Teri.” Bhai threatened me.

Jaise mai unse darta hu, bachpan se hi inhone kabhi mujhpe haath nahi uthaya, ab kya hi karenge.

“Dekho Mumma, kaise dhamki de rahe hai mujhe. Mai to kehta hu ab aapko wo baat bata hi deta hu.” I said, getting behind mumma.

“Tum dono bhai na apni chize apne paas hi rakho, mujhe bich Mai mat laana.” Mumma said, annoyed.
