Democrazy

In the halls of power, where voices should soar,
Lies a silenced truth, behind the majority's door.
A system hailed for freedom's bright flame,
Yet often misused, much to our collective shame.

"By the people, for the people," the noble creed,
But in the hands of the few, it's a different breed.
Elections cycle, faces change, promises made,
Yet oftentimes, it's just a masquerade.

The ballot's power, once pure and just,
Now tarnished by ambition, betrayal, and distrust.
For every good soul that steps into the fray,
Comes another, led astray, by power's decay.

Democrazy, they cry, when the system fails,
When justice is blind, and corruption prevails.
A state of absurdity, where the wrong seems right,
And the voice of reason is lost in the night.

In the dance of democracy, we all take part,
Hoping for change, a new start.
But beware the madness that power can bring,
Lest democrazy's bell forever ring.
