"Hell no", I monotoneusly stated as I stretched back from the computer screen. I sat comfortably in a chair in my apartment watching anime. "The last time I was with you guys I was attacked", I complained. It was summer, could one not rest during summer?
"Nika."
I heard the all to familiar click as Reborn stood behind me.
I groaned, "No, why do I always have to guys. I don't want to go to the beach." I paused and swiveled my seat to face Reborn. "Wait! Hibari never has to follow you around!"
"Tsuna does not feel comfortable around Hibari and Hibari would never go.", he explained to me as it was the most obvious thing in the world.
I scoffed, "and Tsuna feels comfortable with me, yea right."
"...no, he's scared of you too, but you're simply easier to push around."
He shoved me out the door.
Dammit.
---
I grumbled hiding under the shade of an umbrella. I tugged at my shorts, shaking out grains of sand.
Fantastic.
I looked up to the group as their excitedly walked around. It's so damn hot. I flopped on my back with my limbs spread out, slowly becoming dehydrated. My mind began to faze over. Hm, might as well take a nap.
Actually, I'm sort of hungry. I stuck my hand into my pocket. Nope. Left my money at home.
I sat up and looked out to the sea and sighed seeing the group once again got in trouble.
Stupid debt. Damn Lambo, Reborn.
Can I not enjoy summer?
---
My soul left my body as I hid in corner, sobbing.
"Eh, Reborn, is she okay?", Tsuna asked, unused to see the second-year give up so badly on life.
"Yes, they're tears of joy", He responded curtly.
Like hell they are, you monster.
"I'll let you leave now then Nika", Reborn waved his hand in dismissal.
"Seriously! Thank you lord!" I threw my hands up in celebration, my eyes blinded with tears of relief. That was before I realized I was being dragged away. Heh?
"Reborn told us to get you dressed." Haru smiled as she and Kyoko dragged me away. Typical.
---
I grimanced, yanking up the bottom of the yukata. How can I run in this? It's pretty, but not my style.
I clenched at it as I was dragged through the festival. I am surrounded by plenty of people who are dressed normally and I still don't have any money...
I sighed and turned my head up to the sky. Give me money!!

"Ah! what should we do first?" Kyoko asked excitedly. My stomache grumbled...food.
I opened my mouth to make a suggestion, but I was suddenly interrupted by whispers.

We stopped in front of a stall...would these girls buy me something? Ew chocolate bananas. Ah...the boys are working the chocolate banana booth. Sucks for them. Actually, I could just stay here for the rest of the night. My stomache grumbled. Nope.
I walked away from the stall and attempted to find something of worth.
...
Ah! ¥100 coin! What am I to do with this I pondered picking it up. Everything here is overpriced. My eyes wandered through the booths. Ahah! Shooting prize game! I walked over quickly and handed him the coin giving me a single shot. I looked up, sweets, sweets, stuffed animal, a voucher worth money. Yup.
My eyes were suddenly drawn by a glint. A golden target sat discreetly amongst the prizes.
"Excuse me, what's that golden target for?" It was small a tiny bit bigger than a quarter, but was set up so few could notice it.
The owner smirked slightly, "That there is the grand prize of this booth. Knock that over and you get ¥10,000."
Yum. I immediately aimed for it much to the owner's surprise. I shot the cork and it hit the target straight on before bouncing off and hitting something else. The owner paused before picking up the stuffed animal and handing it to me.
That was rigged, totally rigged. Now I really have no money. I accepted the fairly large plushie and snickered suddenly with realization.
So that's how I walked away with an empty pocket and a stuffed bird. Which happened to be a large copy of that bird that keeps sing the damn Nanimori song. Hibari's bird was it, Hibird.

Speak of the devil. I was at the edge of the festival when I saw Hibari and his goons walk from stall to stall. As I get closer, I heard him charge every booth ¥50,000 ($500) for 'protection'. ...This guy. What does he use all that money for?
Typical.
I turned to walk away with a sigh.
"Nika?"
I paused. Great. Hibari spotted me. Its the hair isn't it.
I sped up, it would be complicated if I faced him right now, dressed in pointless clothing, holding a pointless plushie, broke.
In fact, it would be incredibly weird.
Weird.
My cheeks felt warm for some reason. It's so damn hot, well summer. A weight landed on my shoulder. I sighed glancing at the baby sitting there.
"What do you want Reborn?"
"Carry me."
"...you're kidding."
"No. Take me to the crossbow booth."
"No."
A gun clicked and I turned back around to go to the booth. With Reborn and Hibari here these stalls are not going to make any money. I watched Reborn shoot all three arrows into the center.
---
I trudged through the stalls, feeling tired and hungry. My stomache grumbled loudly.
"Well I'm off! Tsuna's in need." Reborn jumped away before I could ask for food.
My hair began shifting around me. I reached up to retie the band holding up my ponytail, but it snapped. Oh great. I held the broken band in my hand. It was fresh out of the pack too. I paused no one's around I can leave now. I began pushing out of the crowd which jumbled together. The surrounding body heat, mixed with my untied hair raised the heat. Oh god this awful, how many people did I touch today. Ah.
I broke through the crowd at the edge of the festival. I brushed my hair over my shoulders and out of my mouth. A troublesome thing which I did not dare get rid of for an odd reason. I collapsed on a bench. It was significantly cooler and peaceful there. I breathed in the night air with relief, yes this is what I prefer.
I placed the large bird plushie onto the bench and using it as a pillow laid down to look at the night sky. It doesn't hurt to stay here.

The cool stone bench against my back under the darkness of the sky. An odd serene feeling came from the background noise of the people. The colorful lights leaking onto the ground.
The night sky began to fill with fireworks. I smiled slightly before a voice interrupted, "They're nice aren't they?"
"Yea."
My eyes rigidly looked to Hibari. There was an awkward silence, but my stomache grumbled. I sat up quickly, straightening out the clothing.
"Where's that tail of yours today?"
"The hairband snapped", my stomache growled " and in addition to the fact that I am hungry and I don't have money it's all good, life."
I flipped the hair over my shoulder only to have the wind blow it back into my face. I spit the hair out of my mouth.
He sat down next to me with a smirk, "You sound like a walking mess."
I waved my hand, nothing new. We sat in silence staring at the slowly emptying festival. After only a few people remained, Hibari got up and left. I watched him walk way and back to the night sky.
The stars were bright tonight, glittering and twinkling. The moon casting a warm glow down onto the Earth. I suddenly felt a rush, oh god I look like a messed up pansy. My arm reached out to the plushie and squeezed in my arm. This feeling can't be normal. Oh Hibird, what to do.
The tantalizing smell of food entered my nose.
"Eat." Hibari held out a tray of takoyaki for me to eat.
Oh god this blessed soul.
My hands reached out, grabbing it. I took my first bite, a savory taste spreading over my toungue. I let out a sound of approval. My stomache became warm with food and satisfaction.
Hibari sat down next to me and spun me sideways so I was facing away from him. I continued eating, but turned my head slightly. He caught my head and turned it forward. "Don't move."
I looked forward continuing to chew, but was focused not on the taste but the fingers brushing through my hair. What's he doing? felt his warmth radiating onto my back. My hair was moved and twisted around as several things were placed into my hair. He shifted a bit, grabbing something and pinned it to my hair.
He stopped removing his hands, "You can move now..."
I ate the last piece and set the tray down. I turned to face him, feeling my hair. It no longer caressed my face but was pinned up.

"...Thank you", I said once I fully faced Hibari.
He stared at me for a moment before replying, "No problem."

The last of the festival lights went out. Hibari and I glanced each other before standing up. We walked together silently to the school.
As we reached the school, I turned to face Hibari.
"Because you had been kind enough to feed me, you can have Hibird", I held out the plushie in offering "Well I'll be going now."

Hibari accepted it and held it in his grasp as he walked away, "I'll see you in school....you looked nice today by the way."
