He said I was his baby girl, but she was too.

"Baby girl, that dress looks beautiful on you," he had said with his soft lips stretched into a tender smile. His brown eyes bright and cheeks a little flushed. He seemed content, content with me.

I had looked up at him in surprise
the moment the words had left his mouth. He called me baby girl. My heart fluttered and warmth rushed to my cheeks.

"Baby girl?" I asked and it only made his perfect smile widen and the laugh wrinkles appeared at the corner of his eyes.

He was utterly gorgeous.

"Yes, you're my baby girl,"

He had planted a kiss so painfully tender, so loving, against my forehead and wrapped me in a hug. His arms felt like home.

But I didn't know he said that to make someone else feel special too.
