formal - chapter twenty

cassie

Stiles, Scott and I watched as Jackson talked to Allison about the formal.

"Hey, don't worry. I'll still be there." Stiles mumbled.

"I'm still going." Scott said.

"Is that such a good idea?" I asked. "Do you even have a date?"

"Not yet." Scott groaned.

"Do you have a suit?" I asked him.

"Not yet."

"Do you have a ticket to the formal? A ride there?" He looked at me.

"No. And no."

"So, you're gonna ride your bike to a dance that you're not even allowed to go to without a date, suit, or a way in and with werewolves and werewolf hunters all out to kick your little werewolf ass." Stiles said, chuckling.

"Yeah." Scott smiled. "You gonna help me?"

"Hell, yeah."

"Nothing's wrong, I just have a lot on my mind." I groaned.

I was with Lydia and Allison. We are shopping. Yay!

"You could smile, at least." Lydia said, looking at me. "Ever heard of the saying, "Never frown. Someone could be falling in love with your smile"? Smile, Cassie. I'm buying you a dress."

I chuckled at her words. I actually found out that Lydia is not as bad as I thought she was in these last few days. And Allison too, since she's helping me to convince Lydia to go to the dance with my brother.

"Have to admit as far as apologies go, that's more than I expected." I mumbled.

"Excellent." Lydia nods and Allison chuckles.

"But not as much as I'm going to ask." I said and Allison nods.

"What? What's that supposed to mean? Allison, what is she talking about?" Lydia asks.

"It means you're going to cancel on whatever dumb, roided-up jock you said yes to and you're going to go with somebody else." Allison said.

"Who?" Lydia asked.

I turned around, pointing at my brother, who was looking at some perfumes and ended up spraying one of them on his own face and started sneezing. I glanced at Lydia, who was almost dying.

"Oh..." I smiled. "Don't frown, Lydia." I said. "Someone could be falling in love with your smile."

Lydia looked at Stiles again and he waved at us with a smile.

I widened my eyes as Lydia threw another dress on Stiles' face.

"Okay, so are you just gonna try these on right now?" My brother asked her, holding lots of dresses. "All of them?" He followed her. "Is this a 24-hour Macy's?"
