Her Dreams - A Poem About Her Escape From Reality

The turning of pages

The endless chatter of the teacher

The mindless talk of the students

The squeak of marker on the board

She sits there

Head on her hand

Eyes closed

Senses taking in these sounds

But soon

they disappear

And she finds herself next to the soothing waves

The salty smell of the air

The silent yet loud waves

The birds flying ahead

The sand tickling her bare feet

Her hair and dress dancing with the wind

This is where she longed to be

A place, where she was free

Her dreams

And with that

She was awoken

By the clear voice of the teacher

Saying things she didn't comprehend

The teacher turned away

Back to the mindless instruction

And so did she

Back to her dreams
