So Much Worse Than Terrible

Your emotions brewed a storm,
Tears flooded your eyes,
Earthquakes caused by the heaving of your chest,
The thoughts racing through your head felt like a tornado,
Then,
When you found the eye,
The promised numbness,
You smiled as bright as any sunny day,
Then screamed when you were forced out of your calm,
The tear streaks looking like they would never disappear,
The earthquakes abolishing you,
The tornado left nothing untouched,
The eye is amazing in its calmness,
But leaving,
It's so much more than terrible.

Another funeral. Another little black dress. More fake smiles. More polite responses. More mundane shakings of the hands of strangers labeled family. When will it end? I guess the answer I hate to receive. Is never. Wow, I just might make that into a poem.
