When I moved all my bags inside it started raining. it was now 2 pm.
I updated him on my life since I stopped coming to the lake when I was 15. I focused on the last few months. I was a total wreck. Luke was always with me when we were growing up rather than hanging out with cameron. Luke was my first kiss, & my first crush at the age of 12. it's funny looking back on it. I spent the next couple of days with luke. I turned my phone off until Wednesday. I finally answered my moms call.

"Hello?" I said nervously.
"Oh my god ashley thank goodness you're okay!" she said in a worried tone.
"I'm fine. I'll be home tomorrow can I uhm bring someone home?" I asked nervously.
"Ashley, god knows what you've been doing or who you've been doing it with. so no I don't want one of your shady friends coming!" She yelled.
"Mom it's luke." I said quietly.
"HONEY YES! COME HOME NOW!" my mom yelled into the phone.
"We're leaving soon mom, see you soon." I said & hung up the phone.

I plugged my phone into the aux radio in my car. I let luke drive so we'd get home faster. We were singing the whole way. we pulled into a gas station right when my phone rang. MIRANDA.

I sighed as I answered it.
"Hey it's the whore." I said into the phone. Luke giggled.
"You're on speaker ash." she said.
"Oh you are too." I said.
"Can we seriously talk?" she asked.
"What's there to talk about? we aren't friends anymore." I said while letting a tear fall from my eye.
"Ash...you're my best friend forever remember?" she said.
"No. I walked four miles home in a prom dress then disappeared for 4 days! you didn't call or text me once. we aren't friends, let alone best friends I have to go." I said.
"Sweetie we messed up." kaylee and Hayley said taking Miranda's phone.
"I don't need this I'm sorry." & I hung up the phone.

Luke hugged me & I cried. my phone rang again.
"Miranda is calling again should I answer?" he asked.
I nodded, "speaker though."
He nodded. "hello Ashley's phone." he said.
"Who the fuck is this?" the voice said.
"well I'm assuming you aren't Miranda." Luke said into the phone.
"It's sam." He said.
"Oh. well here's ashley." luke handed me the phone & went to pump the gas.
"Ashley!" he yelled into te phone.
"Hello." I said calmly.
"Who the hell was that?" he asked.
"Don't worry about it. anyways, what do you need." I asked.
"Ash I'm sorry." he said.
"I'm sorry I have to go." I said & hung up the phone.

The car ride was quiet the rest of the ride home. when we pulled into my driveway it was 10 pm. I ran inside & my whole family was sitting in the kitchen.

Cameron was the first one to hug me.
"We are all going to kill you." everyone said group hugging me. when the doe creaked open a little luke was standing there with my bags.

"Uhm who's that?" Sierra asked.
"Sierra, Jordan ! you don't recognize me? I was your servant for like three summers!" luke smiled.
"Luke?!" Sierra said surprised.
Everyone caught up with luke while I unpacked all my stuff. my phone rang. I answered without looking to see who it was.
"Hello?" I asked.
"I miss you." sammy said.
"Sammy..." I said.
"Please just talk to me ash" he asked.
"I can't." I said & hung up the phone. I bit my knuckles so I wouldn't cry.

Luke came up to my room while I finished unpacking. the doorbell rang right when we were done. Cameron was running down the stairs.
"hey where are you...." I started before I saw jack jack Matt & sammy in the living room laughing. I walked passed them with Luke trailing behind me with cameron.
"Hey!" sammy yelled behind me.
i kept walking into my kitchen.
"When did you get home?" He asked.
I shook my head.
"Ash..." he said.
"It's done, we're done! You made it pretty clear so now so am I." I said & started making a sandwich. I felt Sammy's eyes still staring at me.

"Hey Sam come here." cameron yelled.
Sam whispered to me, "I'm sorry." & walked towards cameron.
"this is luke. He's an old family friend. he can home with ashley." Cameron introduced luke & sammy.
Sammy froze. "you're luke..." he whispered.
"Uhm yeah I'm luke." Luke laughed.
Sammy clenched his jaw.
"I'm surprised you & Ashley aren't doing something tonight." Cameron said.
"Oh guys I forgot my sister is coming home tomorrow and my mom wanted me home tonight. I have to go." he said.
"Sam drove us all here so we have to go..." jack Johnson said following Sams lie.
They all left. Cameron turned to me.
"Why are you and your boyfriend fighting?" he asked.
"I don't have a boyfriend." I said sassily.
"You guys broke up?" Cameron asked.
"At prom." I said quietly.
"What the hell why?" he asked.
"Nothing I'm just done." I said & walked away.
Sammy was going to be hard to get over but i knew I could do it.
