tell me

Tell me I'm naïve
yell me I'm stupid
when its the memories of your voice that keeps me up at 2am
your soft silky voice that made butterflies flutter in my stomach

Tell me I'm naïve
tell me I'm stupid
when I find my feet dragging themselves to your doorstep
to those daffodils we planted weeks ago
when we professed our love for each other
and we felt like Romeo and Juliet without the dying part

Tell me I'm naïve
tell me I'm stupid
when I look for your face in every room I enter
I can't seem to forget your face
I think it should be a national treasure
So that I'll tell tourists how beautiful it is and how I've explored those lips with mine

Tell me I'm naïve
tell me I'm stupid
you left me hanging, neither here nor there
like a light bulb in an abandoned house
but, I think I've learnt my lesson
now I know, its better to be the heartbreaker than the heartbroken
