It's been two days since Yusra regained consciousness and I'm rounding up with my examinations in three days time.
Mother,Father,Fareed and Fareeda have been visiting constantly.
"As I was telling you today's examination was very terrible"Rachel said to Aliyu
"Must you make noise everywhere you go?"Amina asked
"Please spare me"Rachel said adjusting her wrist watch
They followed me to the hospital after school to check on Yusra.
"Mal I like your friends they are fun"Yusra said hugging the teddy bear Kamil bought for her
"I like them too"i assured her making Aayan sit properly on my laps
Rachel and Amina awned at what I said and i just smiled
I glanced at Inna and Ismail,they seem to be lost in a discussion.
"Mummy juice"Aayan said tapping my cheeks excitedly
"Come I will give you sweetheart"Rachel said lifting a plastic cup up
And Aayan grinned running to Rachel,what I didn't expect was Zaina glancing at Ismail secretly thinking no one will see her.
Please let it not be a crush
"We will get going but get well soon"Aliyu spoke firstly handing Yusra a gift bag
"Thank you"she said smiling excitedly
Inna blessed them,they bid everyone goodbye and I followed because I have to be home to prepare food for Yusra.
"Thank you guys"i said breaking the silence
"No thank you in friendship"Ali said and the rest nod
Aayan was wiggling in my arms in attempt to get down but i wouldn't allow him because he will run to Kamal's office and disturb.
"Please hold him for me let me adjust my veil"i said
I handed him over to Ismail
"We will for you in the car"Amina spoke
"Okay"Ismail said smiling then they walked away
I quicky pinned my veil properly but when I look up I found Ismail staring at me.
"Thank you Ismail for everything,I'm sorry things turned out to be different"i said softly and he shook his head forcing a smile
I thought inwardly now that Kamal is the good guy he used to be
He could just divorce me and I could go my way maybe along the way I could fall in love and marry again.
Maybe.
Kamal's pov
I walked into our room and i found Malak sleeping on the study table
While Aayan on the bed perfectly tucked
She must have fallen asleep reading,how uncomfortable can this be?
"Malak" I whispered into her ear
"Let me sleep for one minute more"she said groggily
After a minute I shook her gently she woke up
"Kamal!what time is it?"she asked with a panicked expression then she checked the time on her phone
"Why didn't you wake me?"she asked again
"You said ..I should give you one minute more"i replied honestly
She rubbed her eyes sitting properly
"Are you reading till day break again?"i asked looking at her sleepy form
"I think so"she said groaning and I smiled at how cute she was looking
"Let me warm your dinner" she said after stretching on the chair
"I already did and I have eaten,I came up after I ate"i said putting some of her hair that is out back into her cap
"How is Yusra condition?"she asked smiling
"It is so much better,I think she will be discharged soon"i assured softly
"In sha Allah" i added
"In sha Allah"she said
I changed into something comfortable before I carried my laptop to carry out some research but i couldn't help but steal glances at my wife.
THE NEXT DAY
"Come let's go you two don't want to be late for school"Aayan and I heard Kamal call from outside our room
"Yes daddy!"we both said in unison as planned
Kamal chuckled
We walked towards the car before my phone rang.
"You two should wait for me,I will be back soon in sha Allah"i said dropping my bag
"Let's listen to some nasheeds then soon"i heard Kamal said before I got down
I rushed inside the house and I met Baba waiting at the living room with Inna and Zaina.
"I thought you have gone to the hospital"i said to Zaina
"Come sit here dear"Baba said patting a space next to him
And i was surprised,Baba didn't want to even see my face
Inna and Zaina nodded encouragedly
"Malak,"he called after i sat next to him
you know the meaning of your name?"he asked
"yes,you told me.....an angel"i replied nervously
"you are my and your mother's angel"he said with a proud smile.
"And we can't stay agree at angels for long even though your perfect Husband tuck some sense into my brain"he added
"Baba"i called with teary eyes
He opened his arms for me and i didnt waste time
for the first time after so many months my Baba has forgiven me,Alhamdulilah.
"Come on,now you go become the nurse your mama has always wanted to be"he said and I pulled out of the hug
"In sha Allah"i said smiling
"May Allah bless you"Inna said
"Ameen"We chorused smiling
"So cute,good thing i have recorded it for our little Yus Yus" Zaina spoke bringing a phone down
"Do I need to use cane to pursue you now or what?" Baba spoke again
"Sorry,see you later"i said getting up
And they chuckled
I rushed out happily
"Thank you so much,Jazakallahu khairan.you have been a rainbow on my grey skies so far"i said pulling Kamal into a hug the moment i entered inside the car
"Ow that got me off guard"he said his chin on my head
"Mummy kiss daddy!"Aayan exclaimed
"Where did you learn that?"i asked in baffled state
Kamal shrugged smiling
Aayan started crying repeating same sentence
"What would i do with this boy?"i asked Kamal and he shrugged again
"He is your son he is as stubborn as You"he replied smiling
I placed a soft kiss on Kamal's cheek
Aayan stopped crying and started cheering we burst into laughs while I clean my lipstick stain on Kamal's cheek.
Baba has finally forgiven her
