Alexa Pov

"I have a question for you," Callen says

"And what is that?" I ask as he takes my hand in his

"When you got shot, my whole world stopped. The woman I love was laying on the ground with a bullet wound in her stomach. This whole situation really got me to stop and think, think about the good times we've had. How much we've both grown within our relationship. You are the most beautiful woman I have ever met, you have shaped me into the man I am today and I am eternally grateful. Almost losing you made me realize just how much I love you. I am proud to call you my girlfriend and I'll be proud to call you my wife. Alexa Grace Deeks, will you do me the honor of marrying me?" Callen asks as I'm already in tears

I smile and say "Yes."

He smiles back at me and kisses me. He takes the ring out and I gasp as he slips it on to my finger,"Callen its beautiful."

"I had a feeling you would like it." He says

"Oh really?" I said, "Alexis helped you didn't she?"

"What? No." He scoffs trying to lie, "Okay, fine yes she helped me. I always wanted to include her when I would make decisions like this. She is your best friend after all."

"Yes I am and I am so proud to be." I hear a voice say and I turn and there is Alexis

I smile and I kinda want to cry again, not gonna lie. Alexis works at another hospital in the area, shes a surgeon, with our jobs we don't get to see each other in person that often.

"I don't know what to say, my brain is trying to process all of this." I say chuckling

"Well how about we tell all of your other friends that your engaged?" She suggests

"Yeah." I said turning to Callen

"I'll get everyone to meet here." He says stepping out

Alexis grabs my hand to look at the ring, "Wow, it's so much more beautiful in person. He showed me a picture when he was looking for a ring. I just knew this would be the one for you."

"But of course. To you, I'm an open book. I do love the ring. This is all so crazy." I scoff, "Who knew getting shot would get me engaged?"

"I'm sorry I wasn't here soon. I was stuck in surgery when I got the call." She explains

"Its okay, I get it. I know your job requires your dedication, I wasn't gonna hold it against you." I said and she sighed with relief

"Good. Like I know you understand but considering the circumstances, I feel as though I should have been here earlier." She says

"Well you're here now and that is what matters." I said smiling at her

The door opens and everyone comes in.

"Callen said you had something you wanted to tell all of us." Ryan says

"Yeah." I say smiling, "We're engaged!"

Everybody cheered and said congratulations to us.

"Now theres only one thing that could make this day better." I said leaning onto Callen

"And what's that, baby?" He asks

"That I could go home." I whined and everybody laughed

Today was a good day, kinda a short day considering I slept through a majority of it. I got engaged, I got to see my old team, my best friend. It was perfect, I wouldnt change a thing, including getting shot. Getting shot led me to one of my best days.
