Year 1750.
Devyani is an upper caste but mute girl living a luxurious life provided by her rich father. Her parents, though love her, is worried about not being able to get her a good alliance due to her disability.
When she finally does get a good alliance that too is interrupted by unforeseen causes.
She gets married but the man she marries was forced into it just as she was.
