"The angel of death is back."

Beat.

A long pause of deafening silence resonated in the whole room.

No one can talk. All eyes were widened. Jaws partly dropped. Hearts racing inside. No one can even move a single nerve.

Damn.

The fact that Tyler Scott sacrificed his life just to stop the mastermind of the countless manslaughters is enough to stir a controversy.  It will look like he died for nothing.

"S-So.." Newt broke the ice. He looked so devastated and close to crying. "That's why we need you. Kailangan nating imbestigahan ang bawat kaso at tingnan kung mayroon tayong makukuhang kahit na katiting na ebidensya na makapagtuturo kung si Heinz ba talaga at ang kulto n'ya ang nasa likod nito."

He looked deeply in our eyes.

"But believe me, I know it's him. I can feel it. Please trust me."

I gulped and looked at people around me.

There was no emotion on Andrius' face.

Casper was watching us with face seeking for sympathy.

Aubrielle then cleared her throat.

"S-So," she said. "W-When should we start?"

For the first time, Newt's face lightened up.

"Do you believe me now?"

"No, not yet," Andrius meddled. "We have to see it ourselves first. We will only believe he's alive until we find evidence that says so. Until then, Mr. Dahmer, I'll consider this as nothing but your anxiety."

"That's harsh, man," Casper uttered.

"Better get hurt by the truth than be comforted with lies," Andrius fiercely said.

Casper opened his mouth to say something but can't find any words to say.

"But I'd like to give it a try," Andrius added. "After all, there should always be a room for uncertainty. If none, then let's consider this as my will to help a man with his anxieties and paranoia."

I bit my lower lip.

That's on periodT.

Newt smirked.

"The public is right," Newt said. "You are a judge so high of yourself."

"What?!" Andrius asked, offended.

Newt looked at Aubrielle.

"And you're a self-entitled prosecutor who thinks that you're better than anyone else."

Aubrielle's eyes widened.

"Excuse me?!"

He looked at Casper.

"A public defender who wanted to help anyone but can't even barely help himself from his identity crisis."

"Lah?" Casper asked. "Ba't mo 'ko inaano kinakampihan nga kita?!"

Newt then looked at me.

"And a prosecutor who doesn't even know why she became one."

Wait sis.

Grabe umatake?!

"See?" he asked. "You are more pitiful than a man with his anxieties."

He stood up.
