I make my way to the meeting room and enter seeing many of my co-workers, including David Zay. What happened between us ended very weirdly but I was glad we could agree to stay friends because overall, he was a great guy.
I take a seat beside him
"David" I greet
"Alex, how are you doing?" he asks
"I'm good, and you?"
"Doing just fine now that I've seen you" he says with a smile
"Wow, I'm glad I have impacted your day in a positive way David" I kid
"If you want to continue, why don't we grab lunch after the meeting?" he asks
"Of course I would love to, it's just I'm meeting my sister for lunch today" I say
"You have a sister? I never knew this" he says shocked
"Ya, she lives in Washington but is visiting New York" I answer
"I see, well then another time for lunch?" he asks
"Of course!!" I answer with a smile
We start the meeting and discuss a few changes to the company. We finish shortly after and make our ways back to our offices. I grab my purse and tell Sarah that I will be going out for lunch
Making my way to the cafe down the street, I start to feel excitement creep in. Yes she used to be an annoying bitch before and maybe things haven't changed, but she was still my younger sister and I practically raised her. I still loved her regardless.
I find the cafe and walk in through the door. I look inside and see her sitting on a table alone. I walk up to her from behind and cover her eyes
"Guess who?" I ask teasingly
"OMG Alexandra!!!!" she yells and gets up to hug me
"I've missed you so much!" I say and hug her back
After a few minutes of hugging, I take a seat in front of her at the table.
"So how's everything been? I can't believe you're in New York! Omg Jenn do I have a niece or nephew!?" I ask with excitement
Looking into my sister's face, I notice she has definitely aged. She looked so different. She was younger than me but looked older for some reason.
"Alexandra..." my name rolls off her lips and this causes me to shiver
I hated my full name. No matter who says it, it always got to me. There's only one person in this world who I enjoy hearing my full name fall off their lips. Well it used to be 2. Ace had this way of rolling the 'r' a certain way that made me not shiver. For the first time in my life, I enjoyed hearing my full name. And the 2nd person was Liam. He too said it a certain way just like how Ace did.
