One week later
"So how have you been in here man?" Smiley asks embracing Vito in a brotherly hug
"You know me, always prying chicks from off of me." Vito chuckles
They step apart from each other and he makes eye contact with him.
"So wassup with Niyah? She didn't want to come see me?"
"Man her slow ass in the car taking forever to eat her sandwich. We dropped the baby off at my parent's house and decided to come see you."
"You still ain't speak to Maddy yet?"
"Naw my therapist said we should give each other a little break but hopefully she come and see me today or whatever"
"Man, what happened to ya'll? And what did pops tell you about rubbers?"
"Man I'm thirty-bout time I have some kids I guess," Vito says shrugging
"Man all I'm going to say was that night was crazy," Vito says reminiscing the night their child was conceived
"Oh I bet it was, " Smiley said before grinning
"So what do you think y'all having?"
"Honestly I think it's a girl. She so damn emotional it's just crazy"
"What do you want?" Smiley asks rubbing his hands
"A boy"
"Man you have a boy it's over. You ain't never seeing your kid."
"And why is that?"
"Cause I'm taking him. I wanted a son and since I ain't get one, I have yours"
" whatever man"
The duo talked for quite some time before Raniyah entered the building. She seeks them out and begins walking toward them.
"You still ugly I see" she jokes
"Ugly... Yeah little cousin you going blind"
They embrace each other in a hug and Vito plops a kiss on her forehead.
"Eww don't put your damn cooties on me. Don't nobody know where those lips been"
Vito lets her go and ruffs her hair up a bit before backing up.
"Whatever "
"So where is your baby mama during this time?"
"Niyah mind your business and don't start" Smiley grits while shaking his head
"I'm just asking babe...damn"
Vito lets out a breath before shaking his head.
"We are taking a break from one another" he answers
"Dre is supposed to bring Layla up here later."
"I miss my baby man" he grins
"No, but forreal she didn't come? I mean she is the reason why you're here in the-
"Go to the car," Smiley says bluntly sticking his hand out with the key in his hand
"What I-
"Raniyah go in the car before you make me mad."
Raniyah looks at Vito only for him to turn his head to look the other way.
"Demetrius you're not my damn daddy so I don't have to listen to you." She says to him making him look at her
He nods his head before putting the key in his pocket.
"Find your way back home," he says before shrugging
