Chapter 30: Christmas

I woke up at around 8 in the morning. It has started snowing and our garden is covered in snow. It looks pretty. I sit on the swing everyday and take my father's photograph with me. I feel close to him that way. Today was the morning of 24th December and I was gonna volunteer with my friends at a cafe to send Christmas gifts and daily essentials to the homeless. Alex very generously contributed and so did the parents of my friends. We all came from business families. Later on we were gonna exchange gifts at the cafe.

Gifts. It took me so long to collect them I started planning since the beginning of December and I just got it done yesterday. It was real close. This was my first Christmas and wanted it to be perfect. I had saved about 5000 pounds which was very much enough to buy gifts for everyone. I put on my outfit for the day. Since it was very cold outside I decided on a maroon sweater and black skater skirt with black woolen tights.

I went downstairs for breakfast.

"Someone's looking gorgeous." Nate said. I blushed.

"When are you leaving?" Alex asked.

"10AM."

"When will you come back?"

"5PM."

"What about lunch?"

"I'll have it with my friends."

"Please be careful Kat."

" I will. I promise. And Sawyer is coming with me anyways. Dont worry."

"I always worry Kat."

"I know. When are we decorating the Christmas tree."

"We'll start once you come home."

"Don't forget your coat!"

I came to know that Christmas celebrations in my family were very authentic. It was compulsory for all the members to be present. Everyone decorates the Christmas tree together and everyone has to wear matching PJs on Christian morning. Then baking cookies and a nice lunch. We also have a family dinner on Christmas eve. Nothing too fancy. But the whole family has high Christmas spirits. Everyone tries to find out what the other is getting them. Geez I had to hide their gifts in shoe boxes of my closet.

I final met my friends at the cafe. We all hugged and wished each other. We then got to work. Val and Ness were packing boxes. Cole was wrapping them and Matt and I were distributing. We also had red Christmas hats on. We also clicked a few selfies. At lunch we exchanged gifts. I got Val and Ness OPI nail polishes, MAC lip glosses and eye liners. They loved that kind of stuff. I packed them into 2 cute bags which I decorated myself.
