Chapter 12 – Chelsea POV

I never understood the process of ‘life’ in general… the phases that you endure regardless of who you are, what you believe in or what you do. You are a baby, then a toddler, a child, a young child, teenager or young adult, and then you are an adult. I would hear parents telling children, you’re a child enjoy that while you can or you’re going to miss that time in your life when you can be carefree, granted there would be consequences for your actions as a child, you didn’t have to deal with ‘grown up’ problems. You were a child, therefore you did childish things, until one day, it had crept up and surprised you, ‘bam,’ adulthood.

This was how I felt, I had been a child even when I thought of myself as an adult, I hadn’t been. I was carefree, had nothing to really deal with, no real life problems on my shoulders, I didn’t have to think of my actions in terms of how it impacted anyone. Now, that was different, all the time I had spent before pleading with my wolves to tell me what they knew, what I was meant for, why I was so gifted, that was my childhood. Right here, this was my wakeup call, “You see there are many confusing while well thought out plans. White wolves are merely so because of a genetic mutation as well as character, but without testing we can’t positively correlate the two variables. Though I’ve I got off subject-” the man says.

“What’s your name?”

“Liam,” he says with a slow nod, “As I was saying, the mutation is rare, but that mutated gene is what stands between destruction, takeover, power and many enemies with each their own agenda,” Liam, with his brow serious eyes spoke nonchalantly, but I understood the severity of his words. Everyone had what they wanted, plans on what needed to be done to execute each unstoppable, foolproof plan.

I could spot ulterior motives from miles away. Now. Hopefully.

“But my blood?”

“The Elders, have many plans, faked reverses that are being pulled on the humans right now. We have seen that the U.S. president has confirmed our existence, but for whatever reason that information was leaked, it only works to the Elders’ benefit.” How could he possibly know that? Gabriel asked, but I was listening to the man, as well as his words, searching for dishonesty. I had yet to find it.

“They have developed a serum, they are able to control their army on a strictly biological level. They’ve programed or a better word is that they’ve infected a large group of people to do as the humans have said, but the government isn’t aware of the backdoor hatch they’ve included – not yet. When the time comes they will be bale to change that programing, they’re being patient, making sure that their plan is impenetrable.” Humans are in grave danger… Liam thought, his words and thoughts blending, “How do you-”

“Know?” I nodded.

“I was in a facility, one of many.”

I knew I was wrong but I still asked, “Many captives?” slowly enunciating the words.
