"Since when do you drink?" Tyler asks. They were hanging out at the pool for the day. Surprising Y/N, Tyler and her sister were able to get over their fight rather quickly. He came over the next morning to check on them and Addison kissed him and they made up.

Y/N realized that there was no such thing was talking when it came to the two of them, her sister and her boyfriend would rather just ignore their problems rather than deal with them. When she found out that they were suddenly fine again, Y/N couldn't help but feel slightly irritated.

They had both said some very hurtful things in her opinion and she didn't like that those things hadn't been processed. Part of her wondered if she just didn't understand what they were going through because she had never had a relationship like theirs. Maybe this was normal, maybe she was making a bigger deal out of something that wasn't there.

Picking her head up from her book, Y/N pushed her sunglasses down her nose- looking over at tyler. "What? I don't drink." she sighed, keeping her voice low as she looked towards her sister.

Addison was about twenty feet away, laying in the middle of the backyard and sun tanning. She was passed out in her lawn chair which made Y/N slightly at ease. She could never really fully relax now when her sister was near- not since letting her sister drive her home while she was under the influence.

Things had been tense between the two sisters lately. Addison had all but stopped talking to Y/N, so she obviously knew that while Tyler and Addison seemed to be getting along fine, her own issues with her sister remained unresolved.

Tyler frowned. "I saw you drinking at the hockey game- you had like six beers Y/N... Thats not you." he sighed softly.

Suddenly clenching her jaw, Y/N couldn't help but snap. "What if i want it to be me? I am so tired of being this pathetic lonely college kid- Addison is right, It's time to grow up." she pouted. She hated that she was taking out her frustration on Tyler, she just didn't know what to do.

Seeing him go back to her sister after something was obviously wrong pissed her off. Tyler deserved better. She could give him better.

The thought suddenly stuck out as plain as day to Y/N. Was she jealous of her sister? She shook her head trying to reassure herself that Tyler was just her friend, and she hated seeing him be hurt. Yeah- that had to be it.

"Addison and I were already at each other's throats before we got to the game- she got me a beer to make amends. I wasn't going to say no and have her even more pissed off at me." she explained. It was hard to have tension with her sister, cause try as she might- Y/N knew that Addison could be very stubborn, hell both women were. They brought out the worst in each other, but love was love and at the end of the day- they wouldn't trade either sister for the world.

Tyler nodded softly and glanced over to his girlfriend- the Dallas sun basking against her golden skin. "Does she seem okay to you?" He asked hesitantly. It was hard to deny that he hadn't noticed something was up with his girlfriend. Tyler was a lot of things, he was kind, he was attentive and he would even like to claim that he was romantic, but when it came to girls and their feelings, he was oblivious.

Y/N stiffened. She didn't know how to answer him. The girl had a little bit of intel, but she couldn't tell Tyler that her sister wanted space from him. It wasn't her place. "I'm not getting involved with the issues you and my sister have..." she mumbled. "After all, this is like the first time i've seen her in over a year- you know more about her than I do." she muttered. She needed to get away from this topic, for both her own good and Tyler's.

Listening to what she said, Tyler knew he had to take it with a grain of salt. Even if Y/N did no more, she owed him nothing. Her sister was family so if there was something wrong, Y/N was loyal to her kin.
