“We're going out

“We're going out. Get your cloak.” Aegon said as soon as he walked through Fern's door. He sloshed wine out of his cup as he entered and she immediately stood up.
It wasn't uncommon for him to come to her drunk, especially not these days. The older he got, the more he drank. Long gone were the days where he arrived at her door sober and pleased to enjoy her company.
These days, he rarely wanted to talk to her.
He just wanted to drown out his sorrows.
But it was still Aegon. He still always came to her. He still always wanted to be held at night. He still kissed her like he needed it to breathe. And he still paid her better than any other man in the kingdom.
“Where are we going?” She asked.
“Out. Away.”
She threw her cloak over her shoulders, knowing better than to ask anymore questions. So, instead of asking anything, she took the Prince's arm and smiled before taking a swig of his wine.
Aegon grinned.
But his grin didn't reach his eyes.
It was a hollow thing. A mask he could plaster on his face with ease. He'd had years of practice.
But the mask was cracking. Falling away piece by piece, year by year. Soon it would be gone.
Soon the world would have to see what was underneath.
A scared broken boy.
And something far darker.
Aegon carelessly tossed coins at Cedra as he pulled Fern out of the inn. The woman yelled after them as they left.
Aegon pulled his arm out of Fern's wrapping it instead around her waist and pulling her into him. He'd already seen the way she'd been eyed up by other men but she was his. Not theirs. Not anyones but his.
Perhaps his father favoured Rhaenyra. Perhaps his mother preferred Aemond and Helaena.
But Fern was still his.
Just his.
They entered a small building. The roof was low and the stone walls seemed to move inwards the deeper inside they got.
“This place doesn't seem very... Reputable.” Fern whispered with a devious glint in her eyes.
Aegon pulled her a little closer. “You need to stop spending so much time with my brother.”
“I've seen him perhaps a handful of times in the last five years.” She laughed, resting her head on his shoulder.
“Evidently those moments have had their impact. Since when did Fern Waters give a shit what people thought of her?”
She pulls him in, lips so close they could touch. Her eyes peer up to meet his, mischief plain on her face.
“I was more concerned for you, my prince. I wouldn't want to...” She bites her lip. “Debauch you.”
Aegon's grin is real this time, his eyes bright with the one emotion he was always able to feel no matter what was happening in his life... Lust.
“Promises, promises, Waters.”
He kissed her but pulled away fast, always leaving her yearning for more. Slowly, he walked her through the crowds of people.
They were everywhere. All of them dancing, pushing against each other, in various states of undress.
Until, of course, they came upon some men. Tall, well muscled, terrifying looking men.
Fern held Aegon's hand a little tighter.
But he had his chin up, grinning at them, like a man who knew they couldn't touch him even if they wanted to.
“Placing a bet?” The first man asked, scratching his brown beard.
Aegon pushed Fern behind him a little. Not enough for it to be noticeable, but enough for her to be peering over his shoulder.
“Maybe.” The Prince shrugs casually.
“No coming in unless you place a bet.” A second man said. With his dark brown eyes, he looked Fern up and down. “You can pay with her if you're out of coins.”
She stiffened a little.
Aegon ran his thumb over her hand.
He tossed them a bag of coins.
“Put it on whoever. Surprise me.”
The men all muttered, all of them looking more than annoyed by the Prince's obvious display of excess wealth. But he didn't care.
He never seemed to care.
He pulled Fern with him and led her further inside.
“You wouldn't have–” She began.
“No.” He answered before she could finish her sentence. He turned to look at her and she could feel her heart thudding in her chest. “I already bought you.” He stepped closer, brushing golden hair from her cheek. “And wouldn't that be a waste of money?”
She bit her lip and shook her head at him. “Your wife is very lucky to be given such displays of romance.”
Aegon laughed. “Only for you, my love.”
As they got deeper inside the room, Aegon pulled them directly to the bar.
He passed her a drink of questionable appearance and she frowned, staring at it.
After a long moment of him silently urging her to drink, she relented.
It couldn't be so bad, could it?
She drank it all down in one.
Yes.
Yes it could be so bad.
She gagged and Aegon began to laugh.
“Gods, what is that?” She coughed, sticking her tongue out in the holes it would make the taste go away.
“You don't want to know. Here. Try this.”
Rather stupidly, she drank the next drink he passed her hoping it would take the taste away.
It did.
And replaced it with an even worse taste.
“Fuck!” She yelled, wheezing. “Are you trying to kill me?”
His laughter grew even louder.
And through the sheer disgust she was feeling, through that horrific taste, she couldn't help but think how nice it was to hear him laugh.
To see him genuinely happy.
“Alright, you menace. Payback.” She pulled him in and kissed him. Making him taste the vile drinks on her tongue.
He was still laughing as he pushed her away. “Alright, alright, I relent!”
“You and I both know you've never relented once in your life.”
“Then today is a good day to start.”
That devious look was in his eyes. That look he wore when he was planning something.
Fern became accutely aware of the sounds of soft moans around them.
And then he kissed her again.
And again.
And again.
And again.
She felt one of his hands running up under her shirt... While the other reached down under her trousers.
She whined, gripping his shoulder.
“You do recall that we're in public?” She whispered in his ear.
“It wouldn't be your first time fucking a man in public, Fern.”
“I meant you...”
The grin on his face was wider than ever. And utterly incredulous. “You think it's my first time?”
She shook her head. “You are not very regal or gentlemanly. Do you know that?”
“You wouldn't want me if I behaved like a gentleman.”
He pushed her up against the bar and she felt him push into her.
She moaned, biting his neck.
All around them, everyone else was doing the same.
Like some heathen ritual under moonlight. Some hedonistic party with long forgotten gods.
With every movement he made he pushed into her deeper and she couldn't stop the moans that escaped her. Breathy and high at first... But growing louder and louder with every thrust.
More and more and more.
Harder and harder.
And he didn't stop.
All night they did this dance. Sometimes even swapping partners.
But they always returned to each other.
The room felt psychedelic... For both of them. Wild and bright and a little like a dream.
But it was real.
She could feel it was real every time she felt him push into her.
She could feel it was real even as night became dawn. Even as their dance partners slunk into the shadows to disappear until night came again.
The man with the brows beard who'd let them enter was standing over them.
She'd woken up in Aegon's arm with him standing there.
He nudged the prince in the side with his boot.
“Get out.”
“What–” She tried.
“Now. Get out before I make you both leave headfirst.”
Aegon rolled over, grinning deliriously up at the man. “Fuck off you cunt.”
Fern sighed, shaking her head at him before the man lunged at them.
Aegon grabbed her hand, a wild look in his eyes, as they jumped out of the way of him.
Then he was chasing them.
Chasing them as they ran out of the narrow, low ceilinged, building. Chasing them as they skidded outside shoeless and drunk.
Chasing them as they ran through the winding streets of King's Landing.
He was huge and fast... But Fern knew the city like the back of her hand and Aegon could survive anything.
They were unstoppable.
She couldn't help but laugh, and he was quick to join her, as they were pursued by this hulking man.
Right up until they both found sanctuary back in the in that Fern called home.
As the door slammed shut behind them, they could both hear the man raging outside.
Fern looked back at Aegon.
And he looked back at her.
And then the both of them began to laugh again.
