Rotten food, rotten walls, rotten present, rotten breathes, everything was rotten in Rayan Sherazi's life.

Where fate had brought him from soft, plush, luxurious freedom to this isolating and suffocating room with the disgusting, rotten smell of leakage from the walls.

The only source of light in his cell was a grilled window through which the sunlight enters and a bulb in the corridor which doesn't supply much glow in his cell but this does not affect him, his inner self was much darker than the outer world.

His father came to meet him a few days back, telling how rapid lose he faced in business and soon he will be here with him, too or live a life hand to mouth out of radar. He brightened him that Babar wasn't alone plotting behind their back against them it was Alam also backstabbing, helping Babar at his every step. This information left his tongue tight and shocked.
The world is a lie he had read somewhere now it was proved. He always had trust issues before and presently he can not trust himself even. He was never interested in his father's business but as he was the only son Haroon forced him to be by his side and have some knowledge of the business world. He knew his father was corrupt and dishonest but he has always given a deaf ear to his father's whereabouts. He never had a good relationship with any of his parents. His father uses to give him pocket money and he was happy with that.

At the end of their meeting, he assigned Haroon a really important task. Haroon promised him till his next visit he will be done with the work and give him details about it.

That work wasn't difficult if Alina agreed and it will end after the first meeting nothing more nothing less but there was a huge question mark on Alina's presence. Still, he was hoping everything will go as he had planned.

He marks another line on the wall where he was tallying his days in prison. He stayed there staring at the passing days and it only counts a week but seems an eternity. It's been his only activity to pass his time.

He had memorized every corner of his room from tarnished ceilings to the tiled walls and plain floor. A sewerage line from where often he can hear rats squeaks. A potty at a corner with a jug, guarded by a curtain for privacy. His bed in the other corner with a pillow and a duvet and nothing else which could come in the notice.

He sighed and went to his bed. He laid down staring at the crack and damage ceiling making different figures from the stains.

" This will end, too but I deserve it," he whispered and turn on his right side closing his eyes.

Alizey's PoV

I was sitting in our lawn everyone had gone to grab some ice cream with Uncle Younus ( He arrived two days after our last hearing) except me, Mama, Dada Jan and Dawood. I truly appreciate my family efforts to cheer up Alina. In sha Allah, their efforts will bring her back to her real self. October had been one hell of a month for us, especially Alina. I can't imagine myself in that type of situation and stay strong as Alina had but Alhamdulillah everything is going back on its track. Today after two weeks I rejoin the school and found many withering Jasmines on my desk. I don't have to ask anyone who brought them cause I already know. I had replaced them with the new fresh ones I had received today from Rayan.

Today was one of a usual day and I can't explain how relieved I am because of that. We get bored with our daily routines and typical life but also the real comfort lies in this usual life.
Changes are good but for a little amount of time after that, we want to return to the peace and solace of our casual life.
I was sipping hot chocolate under the cold breeze of late October. Trees were shivering and earthy smell of fog was conquering the air. I inhaled the sweet, hot, chocolaty smell of my hot chocolate and smiled. Winter and hot chocolate are the best combos.
