Cease to exist
They become a swamp
Clinging to your ankles
Pulling you underTread carefully
Be sure of foot
For demons in dreams do dwell
Demons with the face of a mother
A friend
A long deceased relativeLeave fear at the gateway
They are not what they seemDo you suffer nightmares?
What do you think they are? Messages from your mind? Warnings? The subconscious working through the day's or week's events? Or just the random meanderings of restless thought?
My wife suffers from bad dreams often. Possibly, they're due to her sleep apnea, but they can be quite disturbing. I wish I could take then away.
