Window Pain

Down the cracked glass pane

A single raindrop descends

For the window's pain

<From MystresMyna>

Is not washed away

The shattered badge stands proudly

Bring forth the downpour

<Mine>

A wild stampede runs

Along the shattered landscape

With no destination

<From MystresMyna>

The shards dare to dream

Forward, forward in cracked faith

Dawn's prim shines bright

<Mine>

A prism splintered

By impact unknown, uncared

The morning rain's here

The PoetsPub profile is doing a fab poem a week contest. In their new post, they had a bonus challenge to write a Haiku about a single drop of rain. I thought I'd have a go, and here's the result, that single drop lamenting a smashed window.

The poor thing. Not exactly a cracking time, eh?

I was delighted to see MystresMyna had added her own additional stanza to this in the PoetsPub Chatter. So, I've added my response as another one! Above, you'll see the thread, which may grow even longer still!

I was right! Myna had added another stanza, so I've taken it further. I'm enjoying this. It may stop here, or may not. We'll see how far the story of a raindrop can go.
